I think it is the biggest chutzpah imaginable to broadcast "Cast aside your Jewish religion and follow ours" in a Jewish country. There is a reason for the anti-proselytization law, and this is in clear violation of it. What if Hindus came to Israel and set up a radio station to broadcast "Your Jewish religion is deficient, you need to drop it and follow our religion"? There is no difference. Jews living in Israel have a right to live in their own JEWISH country and not hear withering remarks about the so-called "deficiencies" of their religion and how those might be "remedied" by injecting elements from another religion--elements which are 100% in opposition to the prayers Jews recite every single day.

People peacefully practicing their own religion, the religion of their fathers going back 5,000 years, do not need to be told that it lacks anything and that the remedy is to follow the dictates of ANOTHER religion. What nerve!

“A different opinion! I’m offended, make it go away!” Would have gotten your point across in a lot fewer words.

Viewers are not coerced to watch, and many choices are available at any time. If one broadcast offends, a simple turn of the dial or a few button clicks takes you to another. You can also turn it off, or better yet pitch it out the window (if you live on the ground floor) At least that’s the way I’ve always seen it work.

Is anything about Judaism permissible? If so, what subtopics considered off limits? Another thing, there are variants of Judaism; where do you draw the line? Finally, what about atheists? They proselytize as much as anybody.

I think mutual tolerance is the best policy, but maybe we should ask a Rabbi?

“...peacefully practicing their own religion, the religion of their fathers going back 5,000 years, do not need to be told that.. “

______________
Freedom of religion and freedom of speech will not hurt their country any more than it has hurt ours!
