“Not laws but regulations that can be enforced with fines”

It’s worse then that. WILLFUL violation of a Federal Regulation is a crime.

So catenate that with a regulation, and voila, you have an actionable offense, so the Regulation is a law in everything but name.

It’s called “delegation” and it should be outlawed. There is no recourse such as the vote to unseat someone who makes an unjust law when it’s written by an unelected employee. That violates the entire idea of self rule.

Per Wisconsin law, the governor can declare a state of emergency, which then grants him certain powers. However, that power is limited. One of the limits is that the state of emergency cannot exceed 60 days unless it is extended by the legislature.

He declared the state of emergency on March 12. Which means, if we follow the law, it expires on May 11th unless the legislature extends it.

Here it the actual law:

323.10  Declaration by governor. The governor may issue an executive order declaring a state of emergency for the state or any portion of the state if he or she determines that an emergency resulting from a disaster or the imminent threat of a disaster exists. If the governor determines that a public health emergency exists, he or she may issue an executive order declaring a state of emergency related to public health for the state or any portion of the state and may designate the department of health services as the lead state agency to respond to that emergency. If the governor determines that the emergency is related to computer or telecommunication systems, he or she may designate the department of administration as the lead agency to respond to that emergency. A state of emergency shall not exceed 60 days, unless the state of emergency is extended by joint resolution of the legislature. A copy of the executive order shall be filed with the secretary of state. The executive order may be revoked at the discretion of either the governor by executive order or the legislature by joint resolution.

Okay... asking this question...

When walmart and lowes and home depot are open.. but the small businesses are not and cannot... is it the goal to shut down and shut out all the small businesses on this go round? this crisis not going to waste?? and what is next?

I smell a rat and it’s big swamp that is... was... disguised as a virus... and I don’t like it.. are we all waiting too long to rebel on this? how many small businesses have already closed? and won’t open because the money is gone and all those who worked there now are unemployed... the demrats don’t give a care... and they are very much into spoiling the day... so what is going on?

*BOOM*

Isn't it funny...if Governor Walker was still our Governor, every Dem across Wisconsin would've had that tattooed on their arse, and run around buck-nekid the MINUTE Governor Walker had called a State of Emergency, LOL!

Thank GOODNESS we didn't have to witness THAT!

“I’m really struggling to vote for him again in Nov - and probably the ONLY reason I will is that the alternative is just so God awful horrible. But I sure would like for this guy to get his shi~! together. Unfortunately, not really confident he will based on what we’ve seen so far.”

Agree 100%. He was a fool for Fauci, and look what it cost us. Then he punted to the governors.

As I’ve said in other threads and boards, I didn’t vote for fifty governors to lead this nation, hell, I didn’t even vote for the governor I’ve got. I voted for a president to lead this nation in time of crisis and as far as I’m concerned he’s not doing that.

“Total kluster-fuck” is an understatement.

“...disguised as a virus.”

As the weeks and months go on, I think we’re going to find a LOT of things that were ‘disguised.’ And it’s NOT going to be from our side!

I think President Trump was correct in turning authority back to the States. It certainly showed the Blue States what TYRANTS they have as Governors, and certainly mobilized every RED voter stuck in a Blue State. (I would be one, though I need no convincing that ‘Rats suck!)

Never Let A Crisis Go To Waste?

President Trump has delivered that IN SPADES through all of this, while doing everything in his power from the start to protect and defend We The People. (Shutting down air travel, calling out the Dems when THEY made light of this virus, etc.)

Do you know that for fact? Have you actually seen it? Because that is awesome if it’s happening.

I just told my girlfriend that every business in the state needs to open at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning, stand together as one, and not close again no matter what anyone says.

Do not fall for this nonsense a second time.

Fascinating.
States differ in how they divide local and state powers.
Why following “rule making” procedures in Wisconsin would make a difference is beyond me.

...”are we all waiting too long to rebel on this?”

Yes. No business should have ever closed to begin with. Given the ridiculous doom and gloom death numbers they were throwing around early on it’s understandable why the businesses did close though.

But, “two weeks to flatten the curve” has become “as long as I say, based on any flimsy excuse I can make up, until Barack tells me I can stop this crap”.

They are trying to destroy the pesky middle class, with their opinions, and their Mercedes’, and their little businesses, and their votes. They want a handful of very rich to be all that’s left to convince on political issues. So many fewer pesky opinions to change in order to get your way in Washington, you see.

Lifelong conservative here, but a problem like COVID-19 can only be solved by a NATIONAL, COORDINATED response. And in that, sad to say, Trump has TOTALLY failed.

You're an idiot.

The state Secretary of Health overstepped and made “rules” that included legal penalties for violating them.

Her office does not have that power, it takes the legislature to do that, so the Supreme Court passed along that little tidbit of knowledge to the people and the world today.

Huzzah!!

I am stuck on bewildered... there are republicans in congress that are surprised... or any such word....for their reaction to the obama.. the barry...and his world of fake and fundamentally changing the country ...that he was and is a crook. that he did and would spy on anyone..practice dirty government.. that he is a snake in our government and cannot be trusted.. never mind his skin color, which gave him a pass...

I can’t understand their disbelief of all that is coming out. It sets Trump absolutely free of any thought of doing anything close to what obama did..and that is what surprises them? that Trump is the good guy and they didn’t know it?... that they stuck with the snake? where have they been for the past 4 years.. the media, the dems and some of the republicans.. it must pain them to know they were mistaken...badly mistaken...

Washington is so thick that they missed every clue or chose to.. The waste.. the money spent... the hate spread around.. the lies and lies and more lies.. the lives destroyed..and not even an apology?

I would like it to go to the Supreme Court. I would love it if the Supreme Court declares the need to make all state governors’ actions Unconstitutional as well.

I would hope they can overturn ALL the governors in all the states, if that is possible.

It's a state matter, not a federal matter. I don't see what grounds the U.S. Supreme Court would take it up on.

This judge sullivan ... the dems... they act out of accord all the time... hill with rules and laws..they do what they want... and it’s been going on in congress for years. the republicans have let the dems run congress even when they are not on the winning ticket... it is Trump who has showed some of the reps to fight back..
for years, it’s been acquiescence.. no fight and not much difference in the 2 parties. since Trump has been in, the dems have gone way left and the republicans have shown a bit of back attack.. but it’s been a fight for 4 years... the dems are used to having their way and the laws mean nothing to them.. it’s win and control...at any cost.

so..I want to see the fight on our side... I want to see GOP join up with Trump and fight this enemy...yes, it’s the enemy of our country.. those who are supposed to serve the people have turned on the people.. I want a fighting side and i want to stop the da.___ take over the left is trying to pull to get the power to do us all in!
