Abstract The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is now officially declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. As of now, there is no known effective pharmaceutical agent against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, several precautionary measures have been prescribed to prevent further spread of the virus, which include avoidance of social gatherings, proper handwashing, frequently disinfecting of used items and surfaces and so on. More recent studies have highlighted the possibility of treating patients infected with the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus with chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, of which mechanism of action is not completely understood. We seek to draw the attention of the scientific community to the possibility of drastically reducing the effects of the virus on the affected patients and improving clinical trials outcome through the synergistic action of zinc and chloroquine in patients suffering from the coronavirus disease.

Zinc assures success. But in countries where the diet is zinc rich, zinc sulfate supplements appear not to be necessary. For example, Dr. Didier Raoult, MD, PhD in Marseille France has had success rates similar to Dr. Zelenko but without Zinc. On the other hand the French drink wine everyday with meals and wine has zinc.
If the blood plasma has a sufficient level of zinc, however it got there is not important, it just needs to be there,then the HCQ can work to push it into the cells.
In the USA, blood plasma levels of Zinc are on average likely to be lower than those of France. So a Zinc supplement ensures the plasma is loaded such that HCQ can push it into the cells, into the pneumocytes.
If it’s me, I would take Zinc supplements just to be sure regardless of my plasma Zn level . I might substitute Zinc picolinate in place of Zinc sulphate. Zn picolinate is organic, more easily absorbed.
Foods that are loaded with Zinc:
Oysters
Crab
Mussels
Also nuts like Cashews.
Study which foods are rich in Zinc and change habits to get them in your diet. Snack on cashews, graze on seeds like squash seeds, sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds, salted and roasted is Ok.
Zinc improves the immune system. It’s required for the functions of over 300 enzymes.
It metabolizes nutrients, maintains your immune system.
It’s also found in red meats and chicken. But purchase only organic grass fed red meats and free range chicken.
Also consider drinking tonic which contains quinine. HCQ derives from quinine. If the tonic is not tasty, add sweetener. I like Monk Fruit sweetener. I don’t do gin, don’t do any alcohol.

There is micro bead technology in pharma that can put both in a capsule so the release can be meted out at varying intervals, like the HCQ first then later the zinc rush. The technology is already used in theophylline and potassium dosing, and several other meds.
