Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pulled no punches against the media on Wednesday for its hostile coverage of his handling of the coronavirus in his state.
Speaking to reporters alongside Vice President Mike Pence, DeSantis touted Florida's improving data, citing Dr. Deborah Birx of the White House coronavirus task force, who called it the "absolutely best data" among every state in the country.
"So any insinuation otherwise is just typical, partisan narrative trying to be spun and part of the reason is that you've got a lot of people in your profession who waxed poetically for weeks and weeks about how Florida was going to be just like New York," DeSantis scolded the reporters. "'Wait two weeks, Florida is going to be next. Just like Italy, wait two weeks.' Well hell, we're eight weeks away from that and it hasn't happened!"

Cuomo is a dumb governor, the Fredo of Governors, he housed covid patients in the same facility as elderly patients and then goes, uh Trump did it!
No kidding Ron. Given what that, I will be kind, employee said the other day, about her duties with the CCP visus website. She used all the buzz terms knowing they would be picked up by the media and misreported to demean the Gov. I am at the point with the press here where they need be considered an enemy of the state. I note in Singapore yesterday, on zoom, they sentenced some drug dealer to death. Seems “making war” against the government there is also a capital offense and to me that is exactly what they are doing here.

cnn is running with the story of a data geek claiming she was fired because she was asked to manipulate data to make the infection/death rate numbers look better than they are here in Fla...we shall see.
A high population state - but with far better management. It makes a difference in a crisis.
I bet he didn’t order nursing homes to take in COVID19 patients, either.
I voted for Ron, but I wasn’t excited about him. Nerdy voice, not exciting. He has turned out to be a fantastic leader. He is really in control of these fact-filled press conferences, and he has good detailed answers with a lot of information. He speaks like he is in a boardroom or a courtroom. I wish president Trump was more like him.
Just wait. We will see such revelations in any Republican lead state that reopens and does not experience mass death within the first week of letting people go about their lives. Because such success cannot be permitted. So the liars must be found and given public platform.

Unfortunately, democrat mayors and governors have been pushing this narrative and people are completely scared. I think that it’s good that DeSantis is doing these things - and I think JAX will fall in line with him eventually.
But in the meantime ...Duval County (JAX is both a city and a county) - is Going to require that both teachers and students wear masks at all times.

Gov DeSantis should exclude the media from his press conferences.
Each day I go to this site to get the latest video. The media adds nothing to the presentation. Just as the media adds nothing to the presentations made by Pres. Trump.

The press conference was held at the Winter Park Towers, the retirement and adult care facility where my mother lives.
