OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS Local) A Wisconsin woman who has taken hydroxychloroquine for 19 years to treat lupus says the anti-malarial drug will not protect someone from COVID-19.
Kim, who doesnt want to show her face or give her full name, says after the pandemic began, she only left her Oconomowoc home to go the grocery store.
But by mid-April, she started feeling coronavirus symptoms.
Weak all over. Coughing, fever. The fever was very high, she told WISN. It just went downhill from there. I couldnt breathe no more.
Kim said she tested positive for COVID-19.
When they gave the diagnosis, I felt like it was a death sentence. I was like, Im going to die,' she said. Im like, How can I be sick? How? Im on the hydroxychloroquine. They were like, Well, nobodys ever said that was the cure or that was going to keep you safe and it definitely did not.
Kim said even though she took precautions when leaving the house for the grocery store, she thought she would be safe because of what President Donald Trump has said about the drug.
Trump has repeatedly advocated hydroxychloroquine for possible treatment or prevention of COVID-19. On Monday, he revealed he had been taking the drug for about a week and a half.
A lot of good things have come out about the hydroxy. A lot of good things have come out. Youd be surprised at how many people are taking it, especially the front-line workers before you catch it, Trump said at the White House. I happen to be taking it. I happen to be taking it.
Im taking it hydroxychloroquine right now.

How queer CBS doesnt report and all the people that take birth control yet still get pregnant.
Lupus is a chronic (long-term) disease that can cause inflammation and pain in any part of your body. Its an autoimmune disease, which means that your immune system the body system that usually fights infections attacks healthy tissue instead.
No zinc.
This won’t be anecdotal. It will be “scientific”. Because Trump. Even though we’ve heard repeatedly for weeks that people with comorbidities are likely to have more severe cases of the Chinese Flu. This woman is about to become a Rat rock star.
Fake CBS news. Just like the fake patients at the hospital they cooked up and got caught.
Nobody buys this. Thanks for trying
Well DUH, it is like getting a flu shot. Doesn’t mean you aren’t going to get the flu. Just means that there is a better chance you won’t.
Talk about anecdotal evidence. One out of how many millions? Sorry, lady, them’s the breaks.
Well, she has Lupus, which means she is immunocompromised. That’s probably why. And I’ll wager she wasn’t taking 220 mg of zinc once a day. I also wonder what is her HCQ dosage. It’s supposed to be 200mg twice daily.
“The biggest question regarding chloroquine he said, is at how many days into an infection it can be effectively administered to someone sick with the new coronavirus.
As an analogy, Tamiflu works very well against susceptible influenza A virus strains as long as you take it early enough, he said. And that’s what we have to determine with chloroquine, whether it can be used when somebody has been sick for more than a few days.

No mention of zinc ?
In a survey of rheumatologists in Italy, 65,000 of their patients on HCQ for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, 12 caught the virus. The media go asses over elbows to find the 12 to claim that it “doesn’t work,” and Orange Man Still Bad. I’m completely sick of the dishonesty. I’m looking forn
a glimmer of justice, but no joy so far.
Zinc gluconate 25 mg twice a day with the Hydroxy or with alternative Quercetin 400 mg twice a day.
What part of 7-14 day incubation period fits into this story?
Sorry, I think it is BS.
HCQ + Zpak + Zinc early to middle stages
HCQ + Zinc as prophylaxis

Fairbanks woman ‘relieved and terrified’ after recovering from COVID-19”
By Kris Capps, kcapps@newsminer.com Apr 2, 2020
“A Fairbanks woman who spent two weeks battling a debilitating bout with the coronavirus is sharing her story to encourage people to take social distancing seriously. Now recovering, she remains relieved and terrified.
Miriam Braun, 38, works as a seismic data analyst at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute. She shared her harrowing story on her personal Facebook page on March 28 and in a later phone interview.
Im usually pretty private, but I have seen so many people out, she said. I drove by on my way to a doctors appointment and there were all these people in the Walmart parking lot. I was just blown away.
The disease, she said, is serious and scary. She knows because she just spent two weeks fighting it and feels grateful she recovered. But there is no guarantee she wont get it again.
Braun has several underlying medical conditions, which made her a perfect host for the coronavirus. She suffers from lupus, a long-term autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue. She also suffers from a common variable immune deficiency and a connective tissue disorder.
So she was a prime candidate to contract the virus when exposed.. . .”
Excerpted. She did receive Zpac. More can be found on her Facebook page.
Fake news and fake shrew.
The reports I have read suggest that hydroxy significantly decreases your chances of getting COVID, but doesn’t eliminate the chance.
