He’s doing it for the paycheck. A lot of them do. I forget which Hollywood conservative it was (I think it was a Friends of Abe member speaking anonymously) but he said that there are celebrity types out there who will spout the liberal party line BS to stay ‘on the plantation’, in order to get steady work, but when they’re quizzed confidentially and out of earshot, their personal opinions are more right-leaning than they’d dare let on in ‘mixed company’.
