In the Northeast at least...don't know about other parts of the country...just about every toll road now has cameras to photograph every plate that passes underneath.These are meant mainly to collect tolls but you know damn well that the cops can get this info if they want it.
IOW,if you're gonna commit a crime and don't want to ruin your chances of establishing a "time alibi" don't go to,or from,the crime scene via such a road.
