Again, this letter (like the Archbishop’s letter objecting to POTUS visiting the JPII Center), cited “tear gas and rubber bullets” were used to clear the park so the president could walk across.
Park Police say they did not use tear gas but rather smoke bombs, they did not know the Prez would be walking out, and that they set off the smoke bombs because 1) they were enlarging the perimeter and 2) they had been pelted with objects by the protesters, including water bottles.
