Correct, unless a clean head shot a 22 will not take an attacker down. I have known people who chose it because they don’t like recoil, but its stupid. If you can’t handle at least a 9mm then you probably are going to die. I use a 99mm with very nasty defensive frat rounds and I would still like two to the body and a third to the head to be sure. I like my 45 but I prefer mags with more than 7 rounds.
I suppose you didn’t see all those large men dropping like flies when shot by a .22 short out of a short barrel Iver Johnson revolver.
I grew up on a farm and remember my father dropping hogs with a .22 short because he didn’t want to mess up too much brain. He liked souse or hog’s head cheeze.
