You’re actually in Seattle...what are normal people doing/thinking/saying?? Is everyone up there just sitting idly by?

This is a very small part of Seattle.
However, the various marches and protests can arise anywhere. My wife helps out an elderly neighbor who has a doctor’s appointment about 8 blocks from the “CHAZ”. She told the neighbor that she won’t be taking her until this crap is sorted out. (And also trying to find another place she can take her to.)

I think this is a mothballed fire station. I did some research and found photos of two Fire Station #6 - the old one shown in the photo that someone posted, and a newer one that is probably the one that is still in service.
If true, this somewhat changes the picture. Shutting down an active fire station with no replacement would jeopardize the fire department's rating, which I don't think they would want to do.
Still, I have questions about this. Who exactly is the "black community" that this is being ceded to? That is an amorphous term, and it must be a euphemism for some specific group. Which group?
Or perhaps the title to the property is not actually being transferred; perhaps they are just rededicating the site to a different use, and saying they are "giving" it to the "black community" is just a euphemism.
But if they actually are transferring the title to some group, I have questions about the legality of that.
