“What is going to happen when there’s a fire within the insurgent zone?”

The surrounding fire stations have to respond and put it out or at least keep it from spreading into the rest of the city.

It's time to convert ALL the fire stations into community centers in order that justice is served. It's the only way to be sure..

I’m reminded of a situation where there was open hostility between a municipal department and a volunteer department that was primarily funded by a furniture manufacturer. His factory (located a block north of the city limits) caught fire and, since he had consistently refused to sign a mutual aid agreement, a city rig responded to the border, turned around and parked, and the crew climbed up in the hose bed and watched the fire. The volunteers arrived 15 minutes later. The factory was a total loss. A couple of months later the volunteers signed an agreement with the only nearby department that would still speak to them.

Something similar is a pleasant fantasy in this case, but most likely the city will just drive over and put it out.

And I wonder just where the tax dollars are going come from to pay for those “surrounding fire stations” to stand ready and, if needed, fight fires inside the insurgent zone?? Surely the people living in the surrounding areas can’t be expected to pay. Why should their tax rates be increased to pay for the insurgent zone (I’m assuming that the insurgents refuse to pay taxes to the big, bad government).
