These are not good optics. What will the Left do when conservatives in rural areas simply thumb their noses at the state and declare themselves autonomous zones too? I can imagine an area like Upper Michigan simply telling Whitmer to go to Hell and declare themselves the state of New Canada or Superior or something.

The left will do what they always do, and that's to ignore the glaring double standard.

Excellent point. I say let's get started.

Except OUR "zones" would be exceedingly successful, and therefore need to be crushed.

Not just rural areas.

What happens when wealthier neighborhoods say: “We are not going to pay taxes to a city that provides neither police nor fire protection. For years the gun control advocates said to call the police. Who are we going to call now?”

I can see neighborhoods being walled off and streets blocked. What is Sinattle going to do about areas that simply refuse to pay city taxes?

Exactly. Seems like this is a great time fir eastern Oregon and eastern Washington to merge into their own autonomous zone, sane with parts of California.

Gitchigumi or Hiawatha. That would get their panties in knots.
