The virus lockdowns are already hurting many of them.

Spoke with a good friend last evening at his Pizza shop. He has always been take out and delivery. He has only two tables, and about 6 chairs for people waiting for their order.

He said that this Kung Flu has increased his business so much that he had to double his staff. The $$ are rolling in.

That fact that his pizza and subs are the best in the area didn't hurt.

Five Guys and the franchisee are actively investigating the situation and are committed to getting to the bottom of it.”

I wonder why people today can’t say what they are doing without professing to be “comitted” to it?

“Passionate” and “comitted”. Two things you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE today.

There is a case to be made that people that own their own business should be able to serve who they want to, and refuse service to others. Black or white. Smoking or non-smoking.

If some business doesn’t want to serve cops - fine. But just don’t get all riled up if some baker doesn’t want to bake a cake for a gay “marriage”.

Sit just outside the parking lot with flashing lights on. Won’t take long for all business to go somewhere else. In a small town like Daphne, refusing service to the policemen is definitely not a smart move. They’ll get you for one mile over the speed limit.

So, this is my 5 Guys. Right down the road from my house and we eat there maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Good burgers, just way too expensive. To say this has caused a bit of a dust-up in our patch of the world would be an understatement. Lots of rhetoric flying from three camps: socialist transplants (damn yankees), non-socialists and the Baptists. The socialists (damn yankees) are defending the actions of the employees, the non-socialists are calling for terminations of employment and the Baptists want to know if any of the employees were on any of the church league soft-ball rosters. Adjustments may have to be made...

Seriously, this situation has our little town pretty upset and I’ll tell you, I really didn’t think we had that many lefties down here, but I guess we do.

Management is investigating.

We don't even know if it really happened, yet.

Hmmmm....$100 says they are Black employees!!!

I would not take that bet. Quite a few of the rioters/protesters are white Trotskyite students.

You need to study geography when you attempt to sanitize black criminal activity. The incident took place in Alabama not Seattle

These days it’s best if police start packing their lunch and avoid fast food establishments.

I agree. They are probably lucky they did not get to eat there.

So, no student radicals outside of Seattle? Didn't know that.

I haven’t been in a McDonalds locally so I can’t say if they have changed or not. I have noticed our local Hardee’s are becoming more like Chick-Fil-A in their ways and services. My husband occasionally wants me to bring him a gravy & biscuit from there if I’m out. LOL I don’t eat there.

LOL, that’s how it sounded. Fast food is incredibly fattening. Once I started cooking at home I was cooking healthy foods. :-)

I figured that’s what you really meant, but I couldn’t resist.

I’m on the point of retirement myself, and I know we’ll be eating better too, and likely losing weight. No fast food other than Subway for about a half-hour drive from where we’re moving.

A lot of people don’t realize how addicting fast food is. They put all kinds of “taste good” additives in the food. They overload it with salt. After I retired and we stopped the fast food addiction I didn’t realize how addicted we had been until one day, on a whim, we went through a burger drive-thru. It was only minutes after eating before I was chugging water while craving more fries. Some of the sit down restaurants do it too.

Now, getting something from Chick-Fil-A or Subway is a rare treat, not a daily thing. I never crave FF but occasionally my husband does. At 82 I figure he’s entitled to eat what he wants. I just go get it and bring it home.

I work at the south’s favorite waffle restaurant on weekends. We laugh when we see the cops come in because we know multiple other customers will offer to pay for their meal. Happens almost every time...which is heart-warming!
