Measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus – such as DMV closures, stay-at-home orders and restrictions on large gatherings – have taken a big bite out of new voter registration efforts...declines for the Democrats in the key general election battleground states of Colorado, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, as well as in Maine..."If these college campuses are vacant in the fall, it really changes some of these battleground states if the students aren’t there," McDaniel explained. "For example, in New Hampshire, you’re not going to be able to do same-day registration and turn out all these college kids..."

Encouraging news, but do not forget that pandemic induced loosening of voting rules may make registration totals invalid as a predictor of election results.

Voting age
should be 35. Just like running for president.

Running for president should be at least 50. JFK, B.J., the Kenyan were gift-of-the-gabs pretty boys that turned on the younger know-nothing voter. That would have left out Teddy R. btw.

What a foolish statement.

Is everyone in your family the same? What about that nutcase Trump niece with the stupid book? Does she taint the entire Trump family?

Democrats have been pushing for more mail-in ballots in left-leaning states for a long time. Epidemic or not, they’ll keep pushing. Too many rural Republicans in those states only thought of the ease of using absentee ballots without have full knowledge of the consequences. Colorado is one example.

She’s absolutely right.

I covered this last week in my uncoverdc.com piece, “Back to School.”

There will be a 30-100% decline of students on college campuses. Period.

You’re looking at 1 to 1.5m FEWER students voting in Nov. This is massive, and will affect metro house races in Ames IA, Ann Arbor, MI; Maricopa Co., AZ, Las Cruces, NM just to name a few.

And my estimates are on the high side for DemoKKKrats.

True that college student votes won’t be concentrated. But now the same votes will show up in suburban and rural areas. Plus, those who aren’t working will get hired by the millions in get out the vote drives.

So, while it will help some marginal Dim districts flip, and the solid Republican districts shouldn’t be affected, there are also many marginal Republican districts as well. It should slow down the conversion of thinking young adults into Dim ideology, as there will be fewer bullying interactions on campus.

Because we've heard this tune before. Unless the GOP gets off their butts and starts battling in the trenches, the increased registrations will be meaningless. The party has been AWOL for over a decade (excluding Trump), despite the fact that there are opportunities to make gains in blue areas IF they are willing to do battle. Trump is, but the rest of the party is just too wimpy and weak.

Baloney!

The RNC is bragging about record donations, but what are they doing about it?
NOTHING.

Nothing except big payouts to their consultants and other useless hangers-on.

Have you seen any great ads about Biden and the democrats and the looting and racism?

Nope. OK, maybe a few, but nothing like what the democrats are doing and even the never-Trumpers like the Lincoln Project.

What’s being done, like Contract with America did nationalizing the election in 1994, to win a Republican House?
Nothing.

Hell, most elected Republicans won’t even announce their support for Trump.

Trump is out there all by himself.
Republicans are useless.

If Trump loses it will be the fault of the always feckless and cowardly Republicans.

Whoa. This means that the only way the demonRATs will really cheat is via mail.

The college druggies don't even know how to open a letter, let alone how to vote using a paper ballot via the US Mail.

My grand daughter, is now voting age and I GUARANTEE that she will register to vote and vote in her new state of residence, PENNSYLVANIA, as a new student at PSU.

If PSU does not have students on campus, gubbernor wolf will be sent to a taxidermist, to be preserved for "Joe's Bar" in Ligonier, Pa {ya gotta see it to believe it, look it up, it's on-line(thank God that Algore invented the magic of the inner-nut)}.

Without the organization, mobilizing, etc. the history of da yut vote FOREVER is they do NOT vote when left on their own. Their numbers only rose in 2016-18 because of on-campus activism.

They will be down minimum 30% this year. Could be a lot worse. Could be down 40%.

"Whoa. This means that the only way the demonRATs will really cheat is via mail."

Democrats are crying about many of their voters sending ballots through the mail too late to have their votes counted. There was some news to that effect today about a mayoral election lost by Democrats.
