A dumpy house on a busy road with a cracked and greasy driveway can be had for only $650k, I understand. And they’ll throw in the rusty chainlink fence around the 200 square foot yard. :)
Meanwhile, in rural KY I bought 32 acres with two streams, a nice home and large barn, for one year’s wages, and $250 a year property taxes. Our house is on one of the knobs in the middle of an 8 acre park, thanks to the miracle of 60” zero turn mowers. :)
Yeah back in the 90s we had a bunch of people relocate from the alameda area due to a BRAC. I saw a few pics of my new coworkers homes there. Not very impressive...they were however able to sell them at such an inflated price that one couple was actually able to purchase a home in a country club.
I wouldn’t go to California to throw up.
