The restaurants are fabulous! And the antique stores are a lot of fun. Crack’s pretty cheap too - at first...

Yep. But just try to find a grocery store...Michelle Obama called the area a "food desert."

Can't imagine why those racist grocery stores pulled out after the 1992 riots and never reopened or re-built.

An acquaintence of mine back in the 90’s had a small chain of “off price” grocery stores. You used one of those old black grease pens to write the price on your item.

Well, he opened a store in the “bad neighborhood” in Seattle. Thought it would do killer business for obvious reasons. The shoplifting and general “shrinkage” was so bad that he had to close the store after only a few months.

That’s why they have food deserts. It’s the character of the general population there. That’s why my advice to ANY young man, regardless of color, that lives in any poor, dead end neighborhood in the US is to, at his earliest opportunity, join the military. It will not only teach you some discipline, but help you to get a real education or learn a real trade.

The problem is that by the age of 16, most of these boys are too far gone and have nothing but a short life lived on drugs, violence and mostly in prison.
