Oh, wow. That could actually work. Scary. Minor comment: The Speaker of the House would not be appointed President. She would be sworn in as President. No one would need to appoInt her.

It would not work:

1) Democrats states delay counting the vote.
2) Republican states count the vote as scheduled.
3) Republican states appoint their electors according to the vote.
4) The electors from the Republican states meet in their respective states and vote for the president and send their results to Washington.
5) The Secretary of State certifies the votes received and declares Trump reelected by unanimous vote since the votes from the Democrat states have not yet been counted and have missed the deadline.
