As the controversy over the reopening of schools roils on, districts around the country have already opened their doors to students this week. However, many administrators have discovered that their student body is not on the same page when it comes to pandemic safety protocol.

An image snapped by a Georgia student on the first day of the new school year Monday showed a packed hallway with very few masks in sight. The photo went viral on Twitter, now with close to 93,000 likes.

The unsettling picture quickly became emblematic of the passionate debate, which has pitted parents, students, teachers, administrators and politicians, from usually close-knit communities, against each other.

There are at least 7 boys and 3 girls in my neighborhood that have been together almost every day since at least May 30th - no sickness at all and parents together out in yards up and down the block complete with lemonade stands, ice cream and cookie sharing for the various birthdays and no less than one progressive cookout where food is shared.

Parents have helped the kids hold sports contests and at least one talent show!

The kids are fine, we parents are all fine and all share ages from 6 to 70 years old.

What we don’t share are subways, buses, crowded bars, sports arenas nor nursing homes.

Local Atlanta TV station had a story about a Paulding County teacher who was too afraid to go back in a classroom - with all the attending ‘reasons’.

I wrote and said:

“Shame on you for giving these teachers/staff a public voice for quitting their jobs.

Unlike the baggers at Publix, or most any other retail employees, they seem to think they are special. They are not.

Want to do us a favor? Run stories on the teachers who AREN’T afraid and are anxious to see and teach our children inside a classroom, as it should be.”

So how is this any different than a protest as far as the people crammed together?

On Wednesday, Carmona reportedly announced over the intercom that any student found criticizing the school on social media could face disciplinary consequences, BuzzFeed reported.

If true, the school has some issues with the 1st Amendment. If kids can praise school on social media, they can criticize it.

There are a lot of "Karens" out there, especially in the Northeast. Too many dimwitted, busy-body women in this country like to run their mouths.

Teenagers must wear masks! And they should not smoke, pot or otherwise. They should not drink alcohol. They should not drive too fast. They should not engage in sex acts outside the sanctity of marriage. And they should learn something in school.

Which rules will they follow?

The kids are supposed to be on the same page as the administrators? That is the problem with schools today. They don’t teach the kids to think. The administrators want to indoctrinate them.

Buy the kids a camera, have him take a picture of the hallway with a copy of a current paper, and have a parent of a former student post it on social media.

In the “protest” they’re also yelling and screaming and spitting.
