Looking at how this would play out...the postal union guys would hold a magnificent card if they decided to strike for the last week or October and the first week of November. They could ask for a 20-percent pay raise, and Congress would have to agree to give it to them.

Jeff Bezos can shut down any station he wants, simply bury it in parcels from Amazon. Targeting stations which primarily serves conservative areas in a national mail in election? Easy. 5-10 thousand parcels for that station (Amazon can deliver directly to the station for last mile delivery. There are no limiting controls for how many parcels Amazon can dump.)

But hey, everyone’s focused on other things at the moment.

Not really. The electoral college doesn’t report until about 6 weeks after the election.

Can declare them essential and if they don’t show up fire them and replace just like Reagan did to the air traffic controllers.

More than enough time to get ballots delivered even with new staff.
