Britain today recorded another 1,089 coronavirus cases, meaning the rolling average number of daily infections has dropped for the third day in a row.
Department of Health figures show 1,071 Britons are testing positive for the life-threatening disease each day — down from the six-week high of 1,097 on August 15 and 1,080 yesterday.
Cases had risen consistently for well over a month, adding to mounting fears of a second wave which scientists have warned could decimate the NHS and lead to tens of thousands of more deaths.
But experts have dismissed concerns that Britain is about to be hit by another crisis, saying hospital admissions — another way ministers track the the disease — have not spiked and that infections are only on the up because of more testing in badly-hit areas such as the North West.
The figures may reassure ministers that the easing of lockdown measurements so far has not triggered a wave of cases, which some infectious disease scientists warned was inevitable. They may even encourage the government to relax existing rules even further, if the trend continues.

Maybe I’m missing the “English humour” here?
I’d like to know how many pneumonia deaths come as a result of having CoVid-19. CoVid-19 could be the UNDERLYING CAUSE OF DEATH and pneumonia could be the IMMEDIATE CAUSE OF DEATH.
What don’t you know that coronavirus kills them minutes before flu and pneumonia? Just as they are about to die coronavirus steps in and finishes them off.
So, maybe they are no longer counting traffic accidents or murders as Covid-19 deaths if they test positive afterwards, as hospitals do in the US to get more Cares Act money.
Oregon uses the total of died from WBW-19(D) and those that died with it but by other causes.

The daily death counts last week went through THEIR 6th week of increase, so that should be falling about now (and looks to be.) They appeared to peak early but then were followed by an about-even week.
This week or next should be it for the 2nd hump in the daily death count curve. First of all because they've past the 6 week increase mark which is the same number of weeks of increase that marked the end of the second case-count hump, but also because there SHOULD be a lag of about 3 weeks ... and it's now been 3 weeks since the case count peak.
What will the dems do next? Ask AOC to second the nomination of Bernie or something?

With the blood clots, heart infections and other circulatory system infections, it probably leads to many heart attacks, too.
Actually the progression is more like SARS-CoV-2 sandblasts the epithelial cells lining the airways, then with vulnerable lung tissue exposed, pneumococcal infection becomes opportunistic and kills the person off.
In instances such as those, COVID-19 is your underlying cause of death (UCOD) because it initiated the train of events leading directly to death, but pneumonia is the immediate cause of death because that was the last nail in the coffin; so to speak.
Most people who are otherwise reasonably healthy don’t just suddenly get pneumonia. Usually something else happens first that enables the pneumonia to take hold.
It’s whatever the dems say it is.
We’ll never know, now that 112% of all hospital patient deaths were caused by COVID.
This works a lot like dem voting patterns in Los Angeles.
