Goodyear executives in Topeka, Kansas warned employees this week during diversity training that they could be reprimanded for wearing accessories that promote or support law enforcement like Blue Lives Matter at work. The executives training said face coverings, t-shirts and accessories that promote Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ, however, would be acceptable.
Say what? After this story broke this week Goodyear executives in Kansas said the employee lied about the information given to a local news station, that is until this audio recording leaked Thursday of the diversity training.
In the audio, an unidentified executive states that “if any associate wears all, blue, white lives matter shirts or face coverings that will not be appropriate.” The unidentified executive conducting the training said “the rules now around what you can wear, let’s try and comply with these so that ay you know everybody feels good in this factory.”
He added “I want to make sure guys, think about what we do.”
“Some people may wish to express their views on social justice or inequity or equality issues such as black lives matter or LGBTQ pride on their face coverings, shirts or wristbands. That will be deemed approved because it applies with a zero-tolerance stance,” he says.
The story was first reported by WBIW, a local Topeka news outlet. The story, along with a photo was leaked from an anonymous employee who attended the training. The training was conducted at Goodyear’s corporate offices in Akron, Ohio.

My local Goodyear dealer is SICK about this. First is was the Gun Free Zone thing which caused me (and I told him so) to go to Firestone for my last set of tires. Like everything else wrong with the liberal side of things, it is a FEW at the top who are ruining it for everybody (like the FBI, CIA, etc).

I wrote them today and informed that I would not buy Goodyear again after 50 years of purchases. They should advertise on Twitter to “their” audience.

Their first printed response was legalese nonsense. It was probably written by the diversity department head. It helped nothing.
Their second printed response from the CEO got a little closer to helping Goodyear, and it did say they now allow Blue Lives Matter stuff, but it totally missed the root cause of Trump’s statement about a boycott.
It wasn’t just that Goodyear wouldn’t allow Blue Lives Matter or MAGA hats. It’s that they support BLM, an organization which has stated Marxist goals which go against everything America stands for. I feel bad for Goodyear employees and distributors, and I’m not generally a fan of boycotts, but the time has come to put a foot down to these companies.
Until they disavow BLM and perhaps fire their diversity department, whose only reason for existence is to woke-scold their employees, I view this as a legitimate and necessary boycott.
They’ll make up the lost sales by selling tires to angry lesbians and soy boys.
Executives lying calling a rank and file employee a liar, despicable. A reputable company would have severe consequences for that type of behavior, ESPECIALLY by executives.

I emailed Goodyear last night on this; they’ve seen the last of me. This was ghastly.
It’ll be a crappy Q3 for Goodyear, and hopefully the dealers will arrange for the swift termination of those responsible.
I’ll likely be getting new tires within the next 30 days. And my hard-earned cash won’t be going to Goodyear. About $1k
