I respectfully say that you are sorely mistaken. Previous presidents, with the exception of Reagan, merely payed lip service to the idea of peace in the middle east. They don’t want peace there - the military industrial complex will not allow them t, and demands the sacrifice of lives to keep violence going.
Carter might have, but I don’t think anyone nominated him.
You may be perfectly right as far as the Military Ind Cmplx goes but I don’t think the voters feel that way and that is why I think it makes for a terrific campaign commercial.
