So you are OK with FB using it’s monopolistic power to change the outcome of our elections?
Harmed Competition...is the key phrase there.
As a business owner we want to be seen and found on Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. We want to on the Social Media platforms with positive gravitas.
Has FB harmed competition? It sure has and it’s not just political perspectives. The alogrithm alone skews against competition in the market place. Example on my business page I have over 300 “fans” and 325 “followers.” Not a big time business so I wouldn’t have thousands. Out of those folks, my last post was shown only to 35 people. 35. A little over 10% of people who by virtue of likes/follows want to receive my content in their newsfeed. Other companies in the same niche might only get 1-3% of their content shown to their fans.
wrong. This is jus so wrong. You don’t the equal ability to reach billions of people and political ideas without Facebook and Twitter. It’s jus a reality. You don’t have equal access to free speech. Until you do, which you don’t, they need to be regulated if they are going to allow free speech for some and not all. Our Republic depends on it. It is way out of balance and can greatly.impact our free elections.
