You still need one more Supreme justice beyond the Ginsberg seat in order to have a majority, as CJ Roberts is wont to be a consistent maybe.

Trust me, a couple of days after the funeral next week it’s full steam ahead. No question about it.

Well said.
Look for my column Monday in uncoverdc.com.

This will restructure senate races, some for better, some worse. Net=about a 52-48 senate.

I’d just as soon not have a woman nominated. Their presence on SCOTUS hasn’t been all that great. The only upside is that the #MeToo issue wouldn’t exist when it comes to confirming.

I’d go for black conservative Carol Swain, though.

I suppose there may be several good choices to replace Justice Ginsburg, but doesn’t any gov’t. employee for such a position take an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution? Those who are picked that don’t intend to uphold the Constitution should never be confirmed. If, after they are confirmed, it is evident they do not intend to uphold the Constitution, then why shouldn’t they be immediately dismissed? Doesn’t oath of office mean anything? I should think it would be the one most important consideration for selection of a USSC Justice or any judge for that matter.

I think he should nominate a black woman. How about Candace Owens?

The left would shit a brick chicken! ...(for some reason i like how that rings better).

That sounds good and reasonable. I’m still wondering if the Lincoln project will still want to give the democrats everything now that the Supreme Court is almost normal. They hate trump but at one time they were conservative and still might be.

To tell the truth, I haven’t found anything about her views on these issues either. She has been a judge for a short time only. Hopefully, there are some articles in law journals or lectures. Trusted people who know her professionally should be asked about her. She is a member of the Federalist Society, but it only means that she is somewhere in the range from Chief Justice Roberts on the left to Justice Thomas on the right.

Actually, I didn’t say she was the best candidate. I said she would be easier to confirm due to her ethnic origin and lack of controversy surrounding her.

IMPORTANT
Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he believed President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick would be confirmed before the election.

Cruz said such action was justified by the U.S. Senate, given the possibility the high court would have to weigh in on the presidential election.

JOE BIDEN has been explicit. He has said, IF HE DOESN’T WIN HE WILL CHALLENGE THE ELECTION. He’s going to go to court. He’s going to challenge it. He’s already hired a big legal team. Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden, “Under no circumstances should you concede.” Given that, there is a serious risk of a constitutional crisis, IF JOE BIDEN is bringing litigation, like we had in Bush v. Gore but IN FIVE OR TEN STATES…

It talks about the epic battle where AL GORE CHALLENGED THE ELECTION RESULTS, AND FOR 36 DAYS, THE COUNTRY WAS HELD IN CHAOS.

Well, IF JOE BIDEN DOES THIS AGAIN THIS YEAR AND WE HAVE AN EQUALLY DIVIDED 8 (SUPREME COURT), 4-4, CAN’T DECIDE ANYTHING.

That could make this PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION DRAGS ON FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS AND WELL INTO NEXT YEAR! That is an INTOLERABLE SITUATION FOR THIS COUNTRY. We NEED a FULL COURT ON ELECTION DAY, given the VERY HIGH LIKELIHOOD that we’re going to SEE LITIGATION THAT GOES TO COURT.

WE NEED A SUPREME COURT THAT CAN GIVE A DEFINITIVE ANSWER FOR THE COUNTRY.
