Before I knew DJT would be the most consequential President of my 7 decades lifetime I voted for him because of his promise to appoint constitutionalists to the Supreme Court. He has delivered far beyond what I could have imagined at the time. Keeping promise after promise. Fundamental to that original promise is the immediate appointment of the next Justice. Senate republicans are duty bound to confirm as soon as possible. This is necessary not only to save their often sorry hides but to save the Nation itself. Was just watching Ingraham panel whom I mostly agreed with except for the idea advanced by Rasmussen, that it would be better for the President to announce the nominee but hold confirmation til after the election, making the nominee part of the choice for voters to make. Here’s the problem. First, this will deeply disappoint the millions who elected DJT for precisely this moment. Second, leaving open the possibility of deciding the judicial pick will motivate the left beyond anything currently in the arsenal of the Biden campaign who struggles to get 100 people to show up for anything. On the other hand, a confirmation victory pre election will likely so demoralize a constituency already low on enthusiasm that even the planned cheating will not help. This is it. We must ignore the shrieking demons in media, stand up to their threats of violence, and act, or die.

Yup.

1). The biggest motivation Lefties have to vote forBiden is that Supreme Court seat. Filling it before the election takes that off the table.

2) we cannot afford the possibility of a 4-4 deadlock on the Supreme Court in the extremely likely event of a contested election. We all know we can’t trust Roberts.

I agree with your point. Confirming RBG’s replacement quickly will eliminate the whole fiasco as a campaign issue.

And McConnell and Trump can easily justify a rapid confirmation process by pointing out that the next Supreme Court term begins in early October, so it’s better to have a ninth Justice seated as soon as possible.

Pushing this to January would be a disaster, in light of the potential Federal court cases that may come out of this election.

I did not trust former democrat Donald Trump and suspected he might be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I was VERY wrong. Never has a president been more dedicated to delivering on his campaign promises.

...Biden campaign who struggles to get 100 people to show up for anything

Struggles to get 100? Drop a zero and you have the truth. He struggles to get 10, and they are even mostly handpicked reporters and staffers. Biden barely has a real campaign and is relying almost exclusively on advertising and the media to pull him through.

Well said.
Look for my column Monday in uncoverdc.com.

This will restructure senate races, some for better, some worse. Net=about a 52-48 senate.
