Gun sales in major swing states up nearly 80% this year: Will it have any bearing on election outcome?
Fox News ^ | September 24 2020 | Hollie McKay

The 2020 presidential election is just six weeks away, and pollsters and pundits are turning more attention to the handful of swing states that could ultimately decide the outcome.

While the issue of the Second Amendment hasn't necessarily been at the forefront of this campaign cycle, the notion of gun rights has been a significant flashpoint throughout the turmoil and uncertainty of this year – induced by the ongoing global pandemic and national shutdown and further enhanced by the rioting and unrest that has permeated much of the country in recent months.

According to FBI data, the bureau processed 93% more background checks nationwide from March through July this year as compared with the same period the previous year. And while the classification of a "swing state" varies and is debatable, the Cook Political Report – as cited last month by the U.S. State Department –"sees Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as toss-ups," potentially along with New Hampshire and North Carolina.

Hopefully this means people are leaning toward Trump with the knowledge that it will lead to more violence from the left and they are taking extra precautions to protect themselves and their family.

Will it have any bearing on whether the violence IMMEDIATLY ceases or not.

People buying guns is a statistic, people using them is peace.

Background checks were taking a week, last month, this month its now 24 hrs.

In the last 12 years its never taken more than 2 hrs. (for me).

and, Optics Planet is taking 2-3 weeks to fill orders......for "in-stock" items.

Would you spend a significant amount on guns and then vote for a candidate who has promised to take them away from you?

That is the $64 question I guess.

“While the issue of the Second Amendment hasn’t necessarily been at the forefront of this campaign cycle,”

Other than the fact that President Trump mentions it at every single rally.

I’m seeing more people that don’t vote conservative buying firearms. Look at the number of people sporting black rifles at a protest in Louisville, at a march at Stone Mountain in GA, one of the guys chasing Kyle Rittenhouse in Wis that got his arm almost shot off... Even the twit that got shot in Austin for pointing his AK at a guy in a car.

Conservatives are not the only ones buy guns these days and something we should be paying attention to.

“Conservatives are not the only ones buy guns these days and something we should be paying attention to.”

A street thug buy a legal gun? Not likely. Legal guns can be traced and they can get them cheaper on the streets. Not cost effective nor a really good way to stay unidentified when the gun gets abandoned in the firefight or the loner you gave to a compadre when he gets shot and it hits the pavement. And not only do they have the owner’s information, they probably have film of the purchase.

Liberal nut jobs are buying firearms.
Obama stocked up huge piles of ammo while in office.
The democrat candidate has already appointed Beto to be the confiscator of legally owned firearms.
The dimrat army is starting to carry firearms at Biden rallys and a few are shooting.

Wonder why gun sales are up?

I think there’s a sizable amount of first timers who’ve invested over %1000 on gun, ammo, sighting, holster, safe, permits, and training and shooting fees that would be loathe to have some gun-grabbing politician confiscate their new property.

Coal miners voted for O-Hole even after he told to unions he would be shutting down the mines. Never underestimate the dummies.

True - and if they had bought all of the above BEFORE prices went through the roof, a lot more of them might have had $100 left to donate to pro-gun Congressional candidates and President Trump...
