Projection.
It’s what communists do.
They forget that Trump will walk back into the WHITE HOUSE.
Can confirm that this is happening and with more frequency. Just yesterday, from one of my Facebook friends: “If you still support this man do not dare to still call yourself American.”
This friend is also an elected official.
What exactly is gaslighting?
I’ve been done playing the victim to these people for a long time. The “rise above it” mentality on the Right has been a losing attitude for so long. A lot of people are starting to understand they have to step into the gutter with these leftists in order to beat them at their own game. They are losing a lot more now, and their increasingly violent outbursts prove it. I don’t think there’s any coming back from it.
David Limbaugh nails it.
Don’t understand and don’t like the term “gaslighting”.
Wasn’t that the term used in the baseball book Ball Four, for when they would hide in a closet to watch another player have sex?
That’s not “gaslighting”; it’s harassment. (Watch the movie.)
Joy Reid lives on a different planet.
Apparently one without oxygen.........................
The destruction of the belief in a free press has been going on for a long, long time. Way before Trump, and the press has themselves to blame.
The term comes from an old movie. It was about a man who was trying to drive a woman insane by telling her things that were exactly opposite of reality.
Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or group, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgment, often evoking in them cognitive dissonance and other changes, including low self-esteem. Using denial, misdirection, contradiction, and misinformation, gaslighting involves attempts to destabilize the victim and delegitimize the victim’s beliefs. Instances can range from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents occurred, to belittling the victim’s emotions and feelings, to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.
The term originated from the British play Gas Light (1938), performed as Angel Street in the United States, and its 1940 and 1944 film adaptations (both titled Gaslight). The term has now been used in clinical psychological literature,[1][2] as well as in political commentary and philosophy.[3]
which is very obvious.
‘Gaslighting’ derives from a 1938 British play, and movie adaptations, “Gas Light”. The villain/husband manipulates the victim/wife with small psychological terror tactics, designed to make her doubt her memory, feel like she is going mad etc. A Kafka-esque operation where the victim feels crushed. Similar to another term, FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt).

A gaslighter will initially lie about simple things, but the volume of misinformation soon grows, and the gaslighter may accuse the victim of lying if he or she questions the narrative. They typically deploy occasional positive reinforcement to confuse the victim, but at the same time, they may attempt to turns others against the victim, even their own friends and family, by telling them that the victim is lying or delusional.
You see this in the DNCMedia when they lay claim to fake news like Russian collusion or saying Trump called Nazi’s good people, but then say anyone who supports QAnon, or claims George Soros’s money is behind a lot the democrat riots, or Biden made the Ukrainians fire the prosecutor going after Hunter as conspiracy theories.
It comes from the story line of the film Gaslight (1944), in which a man psychologically manipulates his wife into believing that she is going insane.
They’re trying to gaslight us but not having much success. Rasmussen says Trump has 95% Republican support.
Ive never watched msnbc. Ive read transcripts which expose the word salad nattering of that crew.
The right has gotten to the point where we have the courage of our convictions and that is what terrifies the left. We do not apologize politely anymore or attempt to find common ground with our adversaries.
There is none.
