Election season is in full swing, with October surprises popping up like a jack-in-the-box at any moment. Within just over a week, we had the passing of Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg followed promptly by Judge Amy Coney Barrett nominated to take her place. Then there was the debate between President Trump and both Joe Biden and Chris Wallace.
An even bigger surprise started brewing Thursday when it was announced that presidential adviser Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID and that the president and first lady were being tested. Friday morning, America awoke to news of Mr. and Mrs. Trump both testing positive for the China virus.
Most serious human beings expressed well wishes and prayers, but a number of the "tolerant and compassionate" leftist politicians, entertainers, and media were gloating and wishing a painful death for the president. Vice President Pence tested negative.
As the day wore on, so did the surprises. President Trump was flown to Walter Reed Medical Center for "the next few days," not because he was sick, but as a "precautionary" measure. According to CNN, "[h]e walked on his own, without assistance, displayed no outward signs of illness."
Trump's medical team, earlier in the day, began treatment — specifically, "an experimental monoclonal antibody cocktail" produced by pharmaceutical company Regeneron. He is also taking zinc, vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin, and aspirin. The latter medications are thought to mitigate the effects of the virus but are hardly considered cures. Famotidine is a fancy name for Pepcid, an over-the-counter medication for gastric reflux and heartburn.
Of greater interest is Regeneron's antibody cocktail, considered experimental and still under investigation but allowed for the president based on compassionate use.

He’s an elderly man who is overweight - extra risk factors given the fact that he was already symptomatic. Maybe an overabundance of caution but doesn’t seem crazy to me.

He has all the necessary items there that will allow him to continue doing President stuff.
I suspect the main reason is that they were worried that if they waited until he needed to be taken to the hospital before doing so then when they did so everyone would freak out.

No reason not to believe the official story and updated just now: he has a mild case and was hospitalized out of caution because he’s the President. Plus, have you seen the photos of his suite? I would t mind spending a few days there!

Question: why was he brought to the hospital?
Answer: Because he IS THE PRESIDENT!
He is the President of the United States. That’s why.
Even though he may be doing well at the present time, there is the possibility that the inflammatory phase of the virus, usually occurring between days 7 and 10 from infection, could change that. He should be in the best possible place to be monitored and receive the quickest care.
Anyone else would be convalescing at home.

He had to answer questions that way. One out of place word word and the wrong mesage could be sent.

I agree. The doctor was great. What the press conference illustrated to me is what a group of jackals the press corps is. They wanted the doctor to say that the President is on oxygen, so they could gin up hysteria. The doctor wouldn’t give them the satisfaction.
One other thing we may consider is that there may be an ongoing investigation as to the source of the infection—beyond just health officials doing contact tracing.
