Wonder how long before CDC revises or contradicts this report.
Funny to me is that I have been arguing with the mask sheep/nazis that the mask may be 20% effective, it is looking more like 15%.

Just a few days ago, a story on one of the local (Seattle area) news stations claimed that masks decreased the chances of contracting the virus by 40-80%. I thought that the huge amount of wiggle room between the upper and lower estimates was suspicious, and that a truly scientific analysis would have had much more precision.
Now, it seems that one CDC analysis showed the reduced risk to be only about 15%, even though it was based on a small sample. I wonder what sampling and what evidence was behind the 40-80% figure.
Another aspect is the time factor. The study cited in this story looked back at the previous two weeks before the test, but it's possible that over a longer time period the benefit of the masks would be even less.
