As I said, the voters she wants won’t vote for her and the voters she needs to be nailing down she obviously is giving the middle finger to. She wants to lose.

Murkowski is a different story. Alaska is a Republican state, and when she ran in 2010, she lost renomination to Joe Miller and illegally ran as a sore-loser write-in with the de facto support of AK Demonrats. As far as I’m concerned, she’s not a Republican Senator. She may have been “renominated” again in 2016 in the face of weak opposition, but again, still a fake candidate (the true Republican nominee ran on the Libertarian line).

Even though she serves the corrupt interests of the RINO political machine and AK Demonrats, she doesn’t have the courage to switch parties and stop playing games. This time around in 2022, I expect she will either retire of her own accord or will be formally and finally deposed by Sarah Palin, who is really tired of her $hit.

So she doesn’t believe in the constitution either. Whatever.

Why doesn’t she shut up her mouth until she is called on? Because she wants on tv, her name in headlines

Exactly! Especially when you are a portraying yourself as a centrist. Better to say nothing than to p_$$ off 50% of your potential voters.

The truth is, she could have been 100% or even 150% on the democrat side of policies and there is still going to be a democrat opponent for her seat because it’s not really her policies, it’s the seat they want. So, there’s no appeasing the democrat party.

So, what does she do? P_$$ off what little base she has left in her own party... again.

Well don’t take what I’m saying as a “defense” of Collins - I’m just analyzing the situation and the reality of who she is but also what she has to deal with. She’s a left of center Republican representing a state that is largely left of center. I do respect the fact she’s never lied about her political leanings, though - she doesn’t claim to be a conservative. She’s always put herself forward as “independent” and “moderate” rather than a conservative or Republican party loyalist. You know what you are getting with her, unlike others who claim to be “severe conservatives”, etc. and then sell out.

I agree 100%. This is not the year to sacrifice Senators sitting in seats with an “R”.

She surely needs to be primaried next term. Losing to another more conservative republican in a primary teaches her a much better lesson and sends a much better message to other RINOs. Better for her to lose to another republican than to a democrat and lose the seat.

I voted straight red and for her also last week. But I did tell her I was not going to vote for her because of what she had said about delaying the process until after the election.

Agreed. I already voted straight red including her.

She needs to be primaried next time around. Would love to see former Gov. Paul LePage run against her in the primary but he’s been talking about running against Gov Mills when she’s up for reelection.

I expect the GOP will lose the Senate.

I hope you are wrong because if the dems hold the house Trump will be impeached and removed inside of 30 days. Game over.

You’re right but the GOPee needs to be rid of her. She’s an idiot and needs to be replaced.

To be perfectly honest, I expect the GOP will lose the Senate.

I assume you see the Dems picking up Maine and Arizona. But Republicans will pick up Alabama and maybe Michigan. Which other Republicans do you see losing?

If they were being honest about this, and didn’t want it to look like a vote against her, they would simply abstain from the final vote, rather than voting “no”. They could vote no on the procedural question of bringing the nominee UP for a vote.

It doesn’t seem fair to ACB for them to put a ‘no” vote on her record. This in fact was why the repulbicans never brought Garland up for a vote — they didn’t want to force a majority no vote that would look like he was being rejected.

I see your point. But, there really isn’t any justification for opposing Barrett when you know and Collins knows, the Democrats would be doing the same thing. It will hurt to lose a GOP vote in the Senate, but having to go through her drama on each tough issue was tiresome.

Interesting calculation. She must believe she will receive dem votes in her reelection contest if she votes against ACB. I don’t know if this issue matters to the gop in Maine.

From what I remember Sen Collins has always taken pride in her record of never missing a vote. She’s often used that with pride in ads of the past.

I wonder if that’s the reason why she’s decided to vote “no” instead of simply abstaining.

I don’t justify that tactic at all but just wondering if that’s what she’s trying to save - that record.

As I said, it would have been better for her to have it the day after the election cause she’s too stupid for her own good.

Yeah, it’s pretty awful that she’s willing to risk everything to please the other side. She’s a real weasel.
