Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put out a “study” claiming that the imposition of mask mandates in Arizona reduced new COVID cases by 75 percent. This is just another example of the weak “science” that the CDC has spewed for months.
The piece is simply a report, not a study. And it isn’t a particularly good report. It suffers from extreme justification bias. In other words, the authors of the report had a desired outcome when they put their report together. In fact, one of the authors of the report is the head of the Arizona Department of Health Services that urged the mask mandates in the first place.

“Science” gets molded to fit the politics in each and every case. That should be clear to all by now.

The big problem with the uneeded mask studies is that the fearful people wearing those leaking masks the most are also the ones who self-isolate. This makes it most difficult for the statistician to isolate the effect of masks, which don’t work, from the effect of isolation, which does work.
Moreover, you don’t need a study to know that the masks leak around the edges and make it harder to breathe.
What has a general population mandate to do with spikes in cases that are mostly NOT happening widely across that general population, but only, primarily, in three areas? Zip, nada.
Tucker Carlson reported on a mask study last night. I didn’t catch the details, as I was sewing. But I think that some locality surveyed all their covid-positive cases in July, and the people responded that 71% of them said they ALWAYS wore masks, and 14% said they SOMETIMES wore masks.
He also mentioned a study from (maybe Holland? or Scandinavian country?) that had just disappeared, so he took it to mean that the study concluded that masks were not effective.
The truth about mask wearing is not presented by MSM completely. They do not want it known because it would deny them their control over us.
The studies about masking of the entire populist do not, and cannot, claim masks entirely stop one from contracting the virus.
What they do demonstrate is that masks reduce the amount of virus emitted and inhaled.
The effects of reducing the viral load in and out allow people who do catch the virus to be less ill and for all people to build immunity, some without symptoms.
It means most of the country could stay open. It means people can adjust their behaviors, but not to isolate.
A handful of people , including Redfield, have been saying this almost from the beginning, but have been silenced(e.g. Redfield from taskforce) or ignored.
The contradictory info is meant to cause chaos.
Universal masking can be minimally difficult and very effective at building immunity and reducing severity of the disease.
Until we get safe and effective treatments and vaccines, it is the best we can do.

1. Not credible. The masks leak and the fabric itself is not military grade.
2. The masks make harder to breathe, forcing users to breathe more to get the same amount of oxygen. Thus, if you are breathing germs you are breathing more of them
3. Even if the masks were somewhat effective, the positive effect is likely too small to justify inflicting masks on the entire population to prevent a disease like this that is generally lethal only for certain identifiable groups.
You are assuming things that are contradicted by many. Masks are proven to reduce in out, NOT prevent entirely. One thing I did not say was we need to wear masks safely and effectively and lay that out in detail.
Mask mandates are stupid, ineffective, and unConstitutional.
