Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday that he wasn’t surprised when President Donald Trump tested positive for coronavirus, and that the White House has restricted his ability to speak with the media.
In an interview broadcast on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” Fauci, the nation’s most prominent infectious-disease expert, said he worried for Trump’s health when he saw first images of last month’s White House ceremony to announce the Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, which had no social distancing and little mask-wearing.
“Absolutely not,” Fauci said, according to a CBS News transcript, when asked if he was surprised when Trump became infected. “I was worried that he was going to get sick when I saw him in a completely precarious situation of crowded, no separation between people, and almost nobody wearing a mask. When I saw that on TV, I said, ‘Oh my goodness. Nothing good can come outta that, that’s gotta be a problem.’ And then sure enough, it turned out to be a superspreader event. “

Fauci better enjoy these last few weeks because I suspect on November 4th he will be sent back to whatever useless job he had before. Hopefully never to be heard from again.
I’m with Fouci. I’m not surprised Trump caught it. I’m also not surprised that nothing came of it. It’s about herd immunity.
Health care workers take care of covid patients all day. Every day. Never would it be acceptable for any to say, ‘oh, well of course this one got covid look what she was doing.’ Fauci would never say to a patient, ‘I’m not surprised you got it. It’s your fault because of your behavior.’ Much less, announce it publicly in this manner. Nursing home workers in NY even, not acceptable for them to say, ‘oh cuomo sent these patients to us of course it’s going to spread to the other patients, to us.’ No nurse would ever say so publicly that’s for sure.
Yet when Donald Trump gets it, it’s perfectly acceptable, required even, to hear, ‘of course he got it. He doesn’t wear a mask.’
And Fauci does this too. Never would he publicly blame a patient in this manner.
I for one am so done with the hatred that gives people license to do whatever they want to do to ay whatever destructive thing they want to say regardless of whether it’s legal, moral or normal, his in order to crush Trump. To crush us.
