A birdcage liner dismissing another paper as a tabloid that doesn’t verify its information, smearing they with their standard “anonymous sources” is actually very amusing.
Why Ben Bradlee had to beg Washington Post reporters to add their names to Watergate first reports. Hero Bob Woodward had to be cajoled and bribed to assent to having his name on a front page article above the fold. “No thanks Ben, don't want my name associated with anonymous sources with unverifiable information. That's not reporting, that's just propaganda. That's not who we are, we're better than some podunk fish wrap.”
Even on mundane stories “reporters” lust for a byline to get bona fide creds for their CVs...witness the crap stories with 3, 4, and more bylines which they fight to get. Without a portfolio of ‘written by’ articles they are phantoms in the biz.

This crap story and the AP fact check story are both out there to give cover to the media not covering the issues. Any cub reporter could easily with info already in the public domaine raise questions that would have to be addressed. Biden would have to be challenged beyond his simple statement that has been discredited. Furthermore if the laptop is discredited why does the fbi have it before a grand jury?
