NYT uses two “anonomous sources” to attack credibilty of a story that is based on tangible evidemce that real reporters are following up and checking.

3) names dates and places match Hunter and this has been corroborated by outside sources such as Hunter’s former business partner

If Hunter Biden was receiving favors from a foreign Government because his father was the Vice President, and Hunter was kicking back payments to Joe, it would seem that a case can be made to prosecute Joe Biden under the emoluments clause.

Why Ben Bradlee had to beg Washington Post reporters to add their names to Watergate first reports. Hero Bob Woodward had to be cajoled and bribed to assent to having his name on a front page article above the fold. “No thanks Ben, don't want my name associated with anonymous sources with unverifiable information. That's not reporting, that's just propaganda. That's not who we are, we're better than some podunk fish wrap.”
Even on mundane stories “reporters” lust for a byline to get bona fide creds for their CVs...witness the crap stories with 3, 4, and more bylines which they fight to get. Without a portfolio of ‘written by’ articles they are phantoms in the biz.
