"Graham has betrayed President Trump at almost every turn"
The Hill ^ | 10/24/20 09:19 AM EDT | BY MORGAN GSTALTER

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs on Friday went after Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), asking why anyone would vote for the Republican lawmaker just weeks before his hotly contested election.

Dobbs lashed out at the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman for “not subpoenaing the left-wing heads of the censorships Twitter and Facebook until after the election.”

“I don’t know why anyone in the great state of South Carolina would ever vote for Lindsey Graham. It’s just outrageous,” Dobbs said. “This is the guy who keeps saying, ‘Stay tuned.’ He said he would get to the bottom of Obamagate with the Judiciary Committee, which has been a year and a half, actually longer, of absolute inert response to these pressing issues of our day.”

Dobbs noted how Graham, now one of President Trump’s most vocal supporters, was criticized by the then-Republican presidential candidate during the 2016 election.

Trump called Graham “one of the dumbest human beings I’ve ever seen” and said the senator, who was running against him at the time in the GOP primary, “is a nut job.”

“I believe that the president’s words about the senator then apply today,” Dobbs said.

“Graham has betrayed President Trump at almost every turn,” Dobbs pressed. “He has betrayed the American people and his oath of office. He’s done absolutely nothing to investigate Obamagate except to tell everyone, ‘Stay tuned,’ time and time again. Stay tuned. Senator Graham needs to be tuned out in South Carolina.”

The fierce condemnation comes after the Senate Judiciary Committee this week voted to subpoena the chief executives of Facebook and Twitter a week after both platforms limited the spread of a controversial article about Hunter Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's son.

Conservatives have argued the social media platforms' actions are indicative of alleged anti-conservative bias.

The panel voted 12-0 to compel the testimony of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The Democrats on the committee had boycotted the hearing over the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

Graham had said he was considering holding the hearing in November, “which I think would be a great time to do it. See how the election went.”

Dobbs’s scathing segment went viral on social media, garnering more than 2 million views on Twitter.

It also attracted praise from the anti-Trump GOP group The Lincoln Project.

“The Lincoln Project rarely agrees with Lou Dobbs, but today we join in his sentiments that South Carolinians should not re-elect the spineless, do-nothing dead weight Senator Lindsey Graham,” the group wrote in a statement. “Lindsey Graham is a weak man with a weak character. While we hate to give Lou Dobbs any credibility, when he’s right, he’s right and should be commended for calling out Graham for being the pathetic swamp rat he is.”

The four-term senator is currently locked in a heated reelection battle against Democrat Jaime Harrison, who raked in more than $22 million in the first two weeks of October.

Recent polling shows a tight race in South Carolina. A survey from Morning Consult released on Thursday found Harrison leading Graham by a 2-point margin, while a poll from The New York Times and Siena College out last week showed Graham ahead by 6 points.

Yep, Lou, what we really need is a democrat Senate that will really get down to uncovering democrat crimes. Idiot.

“Woah... Lou is really upset over Graham delaying the subpoena’s of big Tech until after the election.. “

Considering that Graham already said the problem is with some of the OTHER REPUBLICANS on his committee, it sounds more like Dobbs needs some money (bigger house maybe) is willing to give the Left ammunition to sucker enough idiot Republican voters to flip a Senate seat to get that money.

And, unfortunately, we can see it working here, with the MAINSTREAM MEDIA now baiting Republicans into voting for Democrats, or at least not voting for Graham.

Exactly. There’s a lot to criticize Graham for, but he’s also been good on some things, especially now that McCain is gone.

The problem is that the legislature is a numbers game, and getting rid of Graham gives us one number less and gives the Dems one number more.

Don’t be fooled by this.

I’d rather see Graham win, then be pressured to resign and replaced by the Republican Governor.

“exactly this is how we lost the house-thinking we need pure conservatives-hows that working out “

This was EXACTLY what the media was looking for. This article isn’t from some Alex Jones type blog - it is from THE HILL, a total Left Wing rag. How often would does the Left amplify the words from people supposedly on our side?

We’re getting played and we’ll soon know if enough otherwise-conservative voters in SC let the MAINSTREAM MEDIA control their Senate vote.

Dobbs is not swayed by short-term political considerations.

I am not sure how valuable Graham is over being another Republican vote in the Senate. he is faux stalwart and initiates high profile investigations that serve only to quash and prevent real investigations while his Senate hearings just go on interminably or peter out. Investigations announced by Graham serve to cover up things that need to be dealt with. We need his vote in the Senate but he sure as hell should not be a committee chairman

I imagine the purpose is obvious. Someone wants flawed Senator Lindsey Graham to be replaced by an America-hating socialist. No, thank you.

Ok all you lock step republicans, line up and shoot the messenger for telling the truth.

If Linda loses her seat it’s her own damn fault, nobody else!

If the senate goes to the demonrats it will be because of 3-4 weak RINO’s that don’t deserve to get reelected, not some messenger on TV.

Primary, primary that’s all the cure, wrong not if it’s open to all, it’s a incumbent’s dream to have open primaries. Wake up South Carolina and close your primary system.

Now is the time to remind ourselves that the Lindsay Graham's in our world must go but now is not the time to act on the impulse. We have six years for that.

Principles are something we should have.

It appears that ignoring principles whenever needed is much more important

As to Linda's Primary this past May/June? I so no one here cry out to support his primary opponent who lost to Linda something like 35% to 65% in the vote count

60 years ago John F. Kennedy said, "first, you've got to win."

First, we have got to hold the Senate.

Very bad move Lou. Six years is a long time and we need Graham’s seat. Also Graham has been great at getting judges seated. I don’t know what’s up with Lou Dobbs but he’s just shown me his judgement is suspect.

You can tell by looking at him that Graham is a whipped puppy. Someone, probably the Clintons, have something on him he does not want made public. He is damaged goods.

“Someone, probably the Clintons, have something on him he does not want made public.”

If it’s his sexual orientation, he might as well give it up. Everybody knows — even the Bible Belt SC evangelicals. Just own up to it, and vote the right way, Miss Lindsey.
