Many Western governments continue to agonise over how to respond effectively to Covid-19. Proponents of free speech and movement continue to resist their governments attempts to craft and enforce national strategies to conduct a war against the pandemic.
In the US, state governments ability to create policies that apply only to their citizens and sometimes conflict with neighbouring states or federal guidelines often end up putting individual liberty ahead of the resulting collective harm. States have the mandate to act because the Trump administration does not appear to want to accept responsibility.
The absence of leadership, common sense, consistency and enforcement from the White House and US federal government stands in sharp contrast to what has occurred elsewhere.
Beijing has been criticised for its failure to act swiftly and transparently at the outset of the virus, resulting in its rapid global spread. However, once the government decided to act, it did so with bravado and efficiency a fact some in the Western media have failed to widely report and continue to deny Beijing credit for.
In many parts of China, people no longer feel the need to wear a mask outside as they are confident that the situation is under control.
Many in China no doubt revel in the fact that the country is virtually virus-free, with freedom of movement, and that their government has done such a good job of managing the virus. Meanwhile, much of the rest of the world is still struggling to contain Covid-19.
The US government has failed miserably to step up to the plate. While many Americans struggle to fathom how poorly their government has responded to the pandemic, the Chinese government has given the world a master class in disaster management.

Dear China, shut up and pay us our tariffs.
Your truly,
Chuck Fina.
I can’t wait until Trump is reelected and puts some serious wood to enemy China
We don’t have to wait for Trump.
Americans can do that now by doing their damndest to avoid buying anything that says “Made in China”.
China’s Xinjiang Region On Lockdown Amid Report Of New Cluster Of Coronavirus Cases October 30th, 2020

China has reported a cluster of coronavirus cases in the western region of Xinjiang. The region is taking a well-worn approach to contain the cluster: mass, pooled testing and a lockdown.
The article you posted is disinformation.

KASHGAR in western China has been left “deserted” after Beijing launches massive lockdown measures leaving residents unable to “get out of their own homes”.

An increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 has led to fresh restrictions in some parts of the UK. But how do other countries cope?
Much of China has returned to a more normal pace of life after authorities began relaxing coronavirus lockdowns in late spring.
But as many cities have found out, loosened containment measures can be short-lived. In June, Beijing experienced a sudden surge of cases linked to a wholesale market, leading authorities to immediately quarantine close contacts, lockdown nearby areas, and mass test residents.
The upside is that with surprise outbreaks like this cropping up across the country, officials have fine-tuned their emergency response.
But the downside is that until theres a vaccine widely administered, there will be a continued risk of repeat lockdowns.
The BBCs China Correspondent Stephen McDonell explores the new normal in Beijing, which has gone in and out of lockdown.

I think it really begs credulity to believe that China’s death count for Corona stopped at 80,000 back in April and hasn’t risen since.
Unless it was a planned and created bio-weapon and they’ve given people the antidote.
Or they’re just lying and the death toll is really in the several hundreds of thousands.
You might be right on both counts.
I totally believe whatever China says, just like I believe everything our media and the commie-rat politicians say. Oh, and the FBI - totally credible too.
The UAE is distributing the China vaccine to people. One of my frat bros got stuck.

Covid cases, death counts and percentages this year by state and totals.
Any US governor who tries to use this as an excuse to lock people in their homes and keep them from working should be jailed.
China is lying. China always lies even when the truth would better serve them. Anyone who believes a single word said by a Chinese official is naive or a fool maybe both.
Because we can totally believe everything coming from a country that treats its people as having little better utility 5han a wheelbarrow full of mud bricks.
When China talks about leadership, they mean dictatorship. Same goes for the democrat party.
I have been doing that for some time, but it is easier said than done. I think I have discovered a loophole that is exploited extensively in the law.
Products themselves are supposed to (by law) have a label with the country of origin or manufacture, but...packaging, advertising, and websites do NOT require it.
So, when you are looking for things made in the USA, unless the manufacturer goes out of their way to openly and prominently state (as some manufacturers very intelligently do) that it is made in the USA, you are dependent on the website or packaging to state it, and...not all do. The only way to reliably tell is to physically examine the product and read the label on it itself outside of its packaging, and even in a brick and mortar store, that is not always possible.
I see that television attached to the wall at Best Buy, if it is Samsung or Sony, sure...it is made in another country. But how about that one there I don’t know-what am I going to do, open a box, or climb on a ladder to look at the product tag where the serial number is? It is completely impractical.
As a matter of fact, I have come to believe that this omission is deliberately done in the case of Chinese goods to avoid consumer backlash.
You end up having to do fruitless internet searches about products inquiring about the country of manufacture, or you have to go to websites that purport to list American made products.
If you arrive at these websites after typing in Google “List of American made power tools” the websites listed are so outdated and incomplete as to be useless.
Even typing in “Is the Johnson XYZ1000 machine made in the USA?” doesn’t bring satisfactory results.
Then, additionally, if one is really bent on buying American, one must be willing in most cases to accept a financial penalty, which, in my own case, I am capable and prepared to do.
Last April, I was hunting for a new 3D Printer to replace the ridiculously cheap Chinese printer that I had used to “break into the field” and get some experience with before I decided if it was something I wanted to do.
I found an American built printer, but...I had to search for weeks, and when I pulled the trigger and purchased one, I paid significantly more for less capability. That said, the support when I had an issue was superb and the company was responsive and stood by their product for the customer...I was very impressed and pleased. I got a communication directly from the guy who owned the company who sent me a picture of my printer actually being built. (This was near the time of highest COVID fear, so their factory was operating at low volume)
Bottom line, I was happy to pay that price to get an American-made product, and that high price was justified and repaid in a sense by the quality and excellent support. But it requires a lot of work, and most people don’t have the time or willingness to put in that effort.
Personally, this is the Information Age. Rather than give money to the government who fritters it away on idiotic crap, how about having them create a database, constantly updated (required by law) that can provide Americans with a resource to see what products are American made.
China is desperate - they know a bigger bill will come due upon Trump’s reelection...
Well said.
We should never, for a second forget, that they are Communists. They only practice capitialist-appearing methods when it suits them to advance communism.
And because their ideology is a lie, everything built on that foundation is a lie.
So, for them, engaging in lies and deception is as natural as breathing.
The French per capita Covid death rate is very similar to the US per capita Covid death rate.
Government lockdowns and mask mandates only slow the spread.
It will take vaccination to stop Covid. No expert known to me has called for immediate US vaccination.
Those worried or truly at risk should follow the Biden hide away in a basement or other safe place plan.
If you die of Covid in the USA, you didn’t follow the Hidin’ like Biden plan.
Never believe or trust China, Russia.
