PA Democrats Violated State Election Rules, Gave Voter Info To Party Operatives

According to a Republican lawsuit filed, “Pennsylvania’s Democratic election leaders violated state code on Monday when they authorized county election officials to provide information about rejected mail ballots to political party operatives” reports National Review.

The lawsuit specifically refers to an email from Jonathan Marks, Pennsylvania’s deputy elections secretary. At 8:38 P.M. on Monday, Marks sent an email to county election directors which read, “county boards of elections should provide information to party and candidate representatives during the pre-canvass that identifies the voters whose ballots have been rejected” so that they could be offered a provisional ballot, reports National Review.

The Republican lawsuit was filed Tuesday against Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, and note that only last month Pennsylvania’s supreme court stated last month that “unlike in-person voters, mail-in or absentee voters are not provided any opportunity to cure perceived defects (to their ballot) in a timely manner.”

Allegedly at least eight counties did not adhere to Marks’ email because it violates the state’s election code, according to the lawsuit. Additionally, Republicans “argue that the opportunity to cure perceived defects for ballots that overwhelmingly support Democrats is exactly what Boockvar and Marks were allowing,” writes National Review.

Thomas Breth, the lawyer who filed the suit said some county election boards gave voters names, addresses and even email addresses, along with explanations of their ballots defects to party operatives. Even some election boards were directly alerting voters that their ballots had defects and assisted the voters in fixing them.

Prior to election day, some election officials even weighed ballots to check if voters had correctly included the secrecy envelopes inside, said Breth. “It is inappropriate for individual counties to unilaterally create their own standards, their own procedures, for letting individuals come in and cure (ballots)” he added. More importantly, the state’s election code does not allow for reaching out to voters to have their ballots changed. “Changing the code would require a state assembly fix” he said.

Sounds like a private party RICO lawsuit for treble damages and lawyers fees. It would be nice to bankrupt a State Democratic Party and a group of officials and label them as “organized crime.”

The PA State election rule states that ANY BALLOTS RECEIVED AFTER 8 PM November 3 CANNOT BE COUNTED.

They’ve already violated it.

Who goes to jail for allowing this? if the answer is nobody, then the law is meaningless since it is not enforced.

There are so many things wrong coming out of PA the last week that it’s getting hard to keep up with all the instances of fraud and corruption...almost need a flow chart. Sigh.

Really sorry to interrupt, but moments ago I saw on one of the threads a screen shot of some states just at the close of the polls on election night.

President Trump was ahead in all of the states.

If one of our brilliant FReepers can identify the thread on which that screen shot exists I would so appreciate it.

I’d like to see similar images of what the vote totally were at the moment when they “started counting again” the next morning. Because I think Biden took the lead in a lot of those states while they “weren’t counting”.

Montgomery County is the big outlier. 65,000 votes more for Biden than Hillary.

The PA State election rule states that ANY BALLOTS RECEIVED AFTER 8 PM November 3 CANNOT BE COUNTED.

This is where PA turns - the governor and secretary of state said regardless of what the law is, they would continue to accept ballots. A Supreme Court appeal would demand that they stick to the law.

And that is where our judges should interpret the law, not make the law. ACB has been very clear on that. Thomas would be happy to stick it to Biden. Alito has told them to keep the ballots received after 8pm aside. There's 3.

Once there are 5 conservatives, Roberts will go with the flow, but it doesn't matter what he does at that point. The only time he would stick his neck out was it it were 4 to 4 and he were the decider, then he'd scr#w Trump.

Well, even without Roberts, we also have Kavanaugh and Gorsuch (aside from the other 3 you mentioned). Both of them have disappointed in the past. Gorsuch on the Transgender issue, and Kavanaugh himself who sided with Roberts in allowing three-day extension for receiving absentee ballots in Pennsylvania.

Kavanaugh and Roberts are the two weak links....

Since Trump took major chunks out of Biden’s base and Biden’s GOTV significantly under performed. How did he manage to get millions more than Hillary?

They’ve probably not kept records of their violations.

Alito appears to have already been a bit peeved that they blew off the previous order by not segregating the ballots.

Just like the mail-in ballot processing center, where they wouldn’t let observers observe - there’s no ballot mishandling that could be observed.
