On Wednesday the Department of Defense released the first images of a Covid vaccination record card as well as vaccination kits. “Everyone will be issued a written card that they can put in their wallet that will tell them what they had and when their next dose is due,” says Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition. “Let’s do the simple, easy thing first. Everyone’s going to get that.”

I don’t see any indication of “nefarious” intent from the information provided here. Maybe you have seen other government directives somewhere else. Does the obverse of the pictured card state it is necessary for travel or something?

You can't register your kid in school without one.

Not too, too long ago, I took some classes at ASU and to register I had to show proof of a measles (I think it was measles) shot. Didn't have it and they made me get a new one and show proof.
