Early ballot counting in Georgia will be mandatory ahead of Jan. 5 Senate runoffs

New policy reflects a change from the state's controversial Nov. 3 election process.

Counties in Georgia will be allowed to begin tallying absentee and mail-in ballots prior to the Jan. 5 Senate runoff elections, according to a spokesperson from the Georgia Secretary of State's office. This policy reflects a change from the controversial Nov. 3 election process.

Counties will be permitted to begin their ballot count two weeks ahead of the election, and will be required to start their count by Dec. 30. The goal of the policy is faster election results on Jan. 5. In November, the Georgia vote took days to tally before the state was prepared to announce unofficial results.

Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has stood by the Nov. 3 election process in his state, despite criticism from members of his own party as well as Democrats. However, this time around he is advocating that the state stop allowing no-excuse absentee balloting.

"It makes no sense when we have three weeks of in-person early voting available," said Raffensperger on Dec. 23.

At present, anyone who wants to vote by mail is able to do so by applying for an absentee ballot.

Senate GOP incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are competing in tight races against Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively. Democrats will need to win both seats in order to attain a 50-seat hold on the senate, with Kamala Harris acting as the tie-breaking vote. Republicans just need to win one of the two seats to ensure a slim GOP majority.

Good idea....the Dems will have time to figure if they want to destroy R ballots or bring in more D ballots.

How are these ballots counted...via a machine or handcounted?

Who passed this, was it the Democrats, RINO’s or the Republican legislators?

Will the count be kept confidential, supposedly confidential but in reality shared with the Dem Party, or broadcast to the public-at-large?

Allowed and permitted. So, Atlanta can still hang back and rig as many as it takes. Whoopee.

My guess as well. Those who “need” to know, will.

What is wrong with these people????
Policy is not the Law.

The Senate runoff is illegal before the counting begins

I think it is time for the American people to SEE and FEEL what the hell it is like to live under their rule for awhile!! You are correct that in Georgia this race is even close is VERY DISTURBING!! I live in CA. and people are fleeing in droves as they are in NY, OR., WA., I actually don’t believe for a minute that this race is close they are lying in the polls so the theft of the election seems as though it was normal due to the polls!! I am infuriated that the theft of the Nov 3rd election is being left as is by republicans I am DONE with voting after 50 years SCREW THEM I have no children or grand kids let these bastards die on the vine!! This country is already DONE there is no turning back it is to late when fraudulent election are left to stand the nation is finished!!

If their evil plan comes to fruition, I’m afraid it will be a LOT longer than a while living under their collective thumb. 😯

It will make it easier for Atlanta to know ahead of time how many ballots they need.

The upside for us is that the stolen election results will be known much quicker and end our agony.

If ballot harvesting is now legal then the Republicans will have to do it or lose.

I'll still vote, but as an Independent. I'm also not going escape from Kalifornia. However, I don't blame others who are. I'm 71 in January, and I've never ran from a fight in my life.

I know that communism is coming; socialism is already here. Once Sacramento passes a wealth tax (already in process) on our savings and/or property, I will ship my Wife off to a secure location and make my stand.

Plus, Biden will embolden every socialist commie wannabe throughout the country. The old senile fart is right about one thing. America IS headed into darker days, and not because of Covid.

This will avoid the middle of the night “stop and dump” from being necessary.

That’s in violation of the US Constitution but who cares.

“The goal of the policy is faster election results on Jan. 5.” Faster, but apparently not more accurate. Seems the goal should be less cheating and corrupt votes. But then it is Raffensperger’s office.
