Yes, an interesting year. The GOP is all but dead and the Dems are soon to be overtaken by the Young Turks.

An excellent point. Its somewhat ironic that both parties are facing growing dissatisfaction within their ranks, if not an insurgency.
But I think the GOP will be the first to crumble because it is a party that rarely fails to disappoint. The base is getting fed up with the persistent weakness. The Dems, on the other hand, have a party that fights like hell for them. Therefore there’s less of an urgency to abandon the party leadership.
