I had this week's column all written and ready to go, until the events of Wednesday occurred. I trashed the column and stayed glued to the computer as the events in Washington, D.C., unfolded. I went to bed Wednesday night and hardly slept. I tossed and turned and watched the clock for hours. Election fraud. Antifa provocateur riots. Chaos. Anarchy. Murder. My thoughts tumbled around, each more dire than the last, as I speculated on what the upcoming year would bring. I finally realized the reason behind my sleeplessness: I was mourning America.
The events of the last couple months have sickened me. To see Trump – and by extension, the will of the American people – betrayed by the highest powers in the land is revolting. The Supreme Court refused to hear evidence of the stolen election. The GOP has lost the Senate for the next two years. Chuck Schumer will become majority leader. And of course, Vice President Pence had a genuine "Et tu, Brute?" moment when he stabbed the president in the back after refusing to block Biden's electors.

Note that I disagree with efs111 about the efficiency of a crackdown. Neither Stalin nor Hitler had access to the internet posts of credit/debit card purchase records that the coming regime will...and Silicon Valley is already gleefully helping Big Brother.

Study the French, and Russian Revolutions instead - they are far more pertinent than National Socialism of the 30s, despite the superficial resemblances to today’s mess in the US. Study the aims and goal of the Communist manifesto in its path to destroy the US - many of which they have already achieved.
Unfortunately this needs to be taken very seriously. This sort of talk used to be fringe stuff even in the minds of those making it, and suddenly we find it mainstreamed by people who believe it's perfectly reasonable. The fear you see amongst the victory gloating is simply that they know how many of us there are by how many votes they had to alter or erase, and they're the only ones who do.

Stalin and Hitler were violent dictators, At first they formed a pact together and Stalin supllied the Nazis until June of 1941.
When Hitler invaded and used massive genocide against the USSR, Stalin was ruthless enough to ravage half of Germany.
There was no relief for the population of either nation, but the Poles usually tried to get to Russian territory because the Nazis were always planning to kill or starve somebody. There were days the Russians were lazy about it.
Multi-ethnic societies don’t work in the long run. The US did for a while, but once people stopped identifying as Americans and started identifying with their own race or religion, it was all over.

We have to expand the title of the security operative as bureaucrats, Big Tech employees, media, left wing teachers, college presidents, local Karens, dem donors, and Facebook loudmouths.
They will all gleefully go full on totalitarian on Trump supporters. At some point it has to cost them as much as it does us.
