In fact, if Roberts doesn't show, he's going to create a Consitutional crisis because Trump's lawyers will immediately file for a permanent injunction/dismissal with prejudice of any attempt to hold a Senate trial without Roberts, and HE will have to rule on HIS OWN ABSENCE.
roberts is a coward. if there’s a way out of it, he’ll take it.

One must remember that noble Democrats are seeking to purge
the enemies of Democracy from the United States. So, it makes no difference at all what Democrats do because they are Democrats and have license and privilege to do what they choose in their noble quest.
Democrats make the rules, and if it does not coincide with the Constitution, it’ OK because they ARE the law.
