He's been in both the LA House and Senate longer than Trump was around. He's known as "the doctor." That's what gets him the votes - even from democrats.

I was referring to the election that just happened.
I knew he was a doctor, but that is certainly not the reason I voted for him the first time (state wide). I was voting against Mary Landrieu. I have never met anyone who said they voted for him because he was a doctor. I know nothing of his district races. But he has been a turncoat from the very beginning.
