Maybe he had trouble remembering the name because he wasn't involved in deciding who his cabinet officers would be. Someone else (Obama?) did that and he just signed off on the picks. It's hard to imagine him having spent a lot of time pondering over the choices.
When he forgets the VP's name, that's when he will be in trouble and the walls will start closing in on him.

He also didn't know the names of the names of the women that got the affirmative action promotion. He referred to them as "the two women".
And then he walks away turning his back on the "guy that runs that outfit" like he wasn't even.
Truly pathetic - and this is the guy with the nuclear code!

I noticed that he turned away from the podium and didn't know what to do. He stared at the Air Force General until she sort of nodded and hopped forward, not knowing how to react.
She could have saluted but maybe she was afraid he wouldn't know to salute back.
