Cumulus Media and Westwood One have agreed to terms with conservative commentator Dan Bongino to host a daily three-hour show from 12-3pm eastern.
Bongino currently hosts a daily podcast for Westwood One that since March 2020 has been repurposed into a one-hour syndicated show on over 100 stations including 790 KABC Los Angeles and 560 KSFO San Francisco.
The new show would air live in the timeslot currently held by Limbaugh on many if not all Cumulus owned Conservative Talk and News Talk stations.
Bongino is a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent turned conservative pundit and investor in digital properties including Parler and Rumble. He has previously served as a fill-in host at WMAL Washington and WBAL Baltimore and multiple syndicated talkers including Sean Hannity.
An official announcement should be forthcoming by early next week.

I have never heard of this guy? They are giving this slot to someone that probably no one has ever heard of? Myself I like the guy Andrew Wilkow over on Saris Radio during the same time slot. He lays it our there.
He had a tumor in his lymph nodes on his neck and went through surgery and chemo. From what I’ve read, his cancer is in remission. Had a close friend with the same surgery 5 years ago and he’s doing fine.
When I read the headline on this thread I kind of chuckled. When a replacement for Rush was being discussed on another site I frequent a few days ago, I commented that I thought Dan Bongino would, out of the current crop of well-known talk show hosts, be the best one for the job. Nobody can replace Rush but, at least Bongino is a true conservative with a lot of courage and passion.
DITTO...he is quick witted and fearless. The last person I want is a compassionate conservative.
wishing him well also......if they can give Katie Couric a chance at Jeopardy, Dan certainly should have his chance at the Rush seat.
Solid choice, IMO. He’s a reliable conservative has a lot of sources due to his Secret Service background. Not afraid to say what he thinks.
His Russiagate books were very thorough and revealing. He’s not Rush — nobody’s Rush.
Sorry to say, I have stopped tuning into the Rush Limbaugh show recently. It was still comforting to hear his voice, and some of the selections were very interesting. But I have to have a fresh take on the happenings of today, not a peripherally-related audio clip from the past.
I’ll be tuning into Dan’s show until he gives me a reason not to.

Dan Bongino was a regular on Fox News IIRC.
No one can replace Rush - it’s poor taste to even try.
I don’t think we’ll see his like again.

Rush was a modern Socrates. There is no replacement.
But Bongino is excellent.
I thought it would be Mark Steyn, and he also would have been an excellent choice.

For those that never listened to the show, to paraphrase Billy Crystal, it’s kind of like never having seen DiMaggio play. You never saw the real thing. There wont be another, not in my lifetime anyway.
Time to move on to new things.
Joe Rogan, Dinesh Dsouza lots of others making waves.
Even Ben Shapiro’s you tube smackdowns are informative and entertaining.

Bongino is no Rush for sure. He will just be taking Rush's old time slot but he is no Rush Limbaugh. Far from it. He's interesting at times but he just doesn't have the depth or intellect to takes Rush's place.
