US President Joe Biden has suggested founding an initiative from “democratic” countries to rival China’s trillion-dollar Belt and Road infrastructure initiative as tensions spike between the Asian power and Western nations.

Biden said late Friday that he floated the proposal in a call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson amid a row over sanctions against abuses targeting the Uyghur minority in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region.

“I suggested we should have, essentially, a similar initiative coming from the democratic states, helping those communities around the world that, in fact, need help,” Biden told reporters, referring to Belt and Road.

Beijing’s influence has grown in some nations in recent years through loans and projects under the initiative, raising concerns among regional powers and Western nations. …

President Nixon gave a short 5 minute speech to some students at Oxford and then spent an hour or so answering questions. This was in the late 70’s? after he had resigned. One of the questions was what had he wish he had been able to accomplish in office and hadn’t.

He talked about how he had hope to see some of their ideas and plans for Africa come to be. IIRC he spoke about how they lacked in the education of government policy and justice, and he hoped to set up training, etc. to promote that.

Aside from that I found the following report Nixon sent to Congress in 1972. At the time, USSR Communism was not attractive to Africa, and neither were the Chinese with their heavy communist views. The Africans didn’t like commies. (Obviously the Chinese have adapted to more capitalistic views - and are now making huge strides in Africa).

https://2001-2009.state.gov/r/pa/ho/frus/nixon/e5/54818.htm

Excerpt:

U.S. private investment in Africa now totals about $3.5 billion, and continues to grow rapidly. Americans are participating in important new enterprises started last year in Nigeria and Zaire.... Africans who want this participation must, of course, create a hospitable climate for private investment. Kenya, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, and Zaire are examples of the benefits which flow from such a climate....

No one’s interest is served by underestimating the magnitude of the task ahead, or by exaggerating the contribution outsiders are able or willing to make to the realization of Africa’s aspirations. The earlier era of euphoria is over. If Africa is to move ahead in the 1970’s, it must be largely on the basis of its own efforts and its own prescriptions.

Assistance from others will supplement, but will not replace, the need for the application of major resources from the African nations themselves. There is no need to hesitate in expressing that fact. Africans know it, and say it, for it has been a recurring theme in my many private discussions with African leaders.

*****************************

The last paragraph of the excerpt: I doubt that China holds that same view of respect, and I bet lots of African leaders making money off the deals don’t either. (Hmm - hence Nixon talking about education and development of legitimate governments).

Biden’s feeble and naive mutterings are ironic, in that he chooses now to even begin to recognize the danger China poses to all independent and Democratic nations, particularly the United States of America.

Perhaps he should not have taken all those millions of dollars in CCP bribes, as now he is impotent and powerless to resist the totalitarian fascism of the Chinese Communist leadership. Pathetic.

Joe Biden is powerless up against the totalitarian fascism of the Chinese Communist leadership.

The greedy Biden Crime Family had no compunction using CCP China as a cash cow; they cashed in bigtime,
pocketing tens of millions of dollars, not giving a whit about imperiling the safety and security of Americans.

The b****-slapping Biden's impotent State Dept got in Alaska indicates China does not find
Biden’s P/C military of woke Generals, transsexuals, and pregnant female soldiers intimidating.

If a plan were ever implemented, it would work this way, the USA pays for everything while our European Allies lecture us that we aren’t doing enough..while at the same time deciding how/where to spend the money...

Belt and Road has nothing to do with “helping” backward countries - it’s an advanced, post-military adaptation of good old fashioned conquering and looting. The last time the USA tried anything like it, Biden’s team loudly accused their opponents of imperialism. He should stick to bribing world dictators - Democrats are pretty good at this and it ultimately costs less than giant development boondoggles.

Wanting to advance his "humanity," Biden comes up w/ Belt and Road, nothing but an advanced, post-military adaptation of conquering and looting. It has nothing to do with “helping” backward countries. Biden’s dementia makes him forget---his team loudly accused their opponents of imperialism, last time it was tried.

Biden should stick to what he does best----bribing global dictators - Democrats are pretty good at this and it ultimately costs less than giant development boondoggles.

BIDEN LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING---HERE'S THE "HUMANE" IDIOT UP CLOSE:

Joe Biden received five separate student deferments....deemed unfit for Viet-era military service,
pleading for deferments b/c he was plagued w/ childhood asthma.

Yet the egotistical lamebrain does not see the irony----continually bragging about his "athletic" achievements in
lifeguarding, football....... and other strenuous activities that would prevent someone with asthma from participating in.
