President Joe Biden is looking into his "legal authority" to cancel student-loan debt up to $50,000, the White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, said in a Politico Playbook interview on Thursday.

Klain told Ryan Lizza, Politico's chief Washington correspondent, that Biden had asked Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to create a memo on the president's legal authority to forgive student loans.

He wants the memo to look into both forgiving student loans and canceling debt up to $50,000, Klain said.

> You dumb suckers who acted responsibly and paid off your student debt. <

And what about the kid who thought college was too expensive in the first place? So that kid got a job at McDonalds. And now he’s worked his way up to assistant manager. That kid went to the college of hard knocks. What about him? I guess he’s a sucker too.

We’re not permitted to have standards... especially where Race or the social worth of the college degree are concerned.

The student loans in question were extended by the government. In fact, since 2010, almost all federal student loans are actually extended by the government...there is no bank in the picture.

This is why he thinks he can do it.

Just change the bankruptcy law and let them do that.

He stole an election. Stealing tax money to pay off student loan debt ain’t nothing compared to that.

It’ll get passed in some form. The GoP will nibble around the edges, they’ll get their cloture vote in the Senate, then the Democrats will get everything they want in conference committee. They’ll get 10 gutless GoP senators to go for it.

Biden/Harris is in a huge rush to destroy America.

Do they think their time is short?

Same here, where is MY money? I went to a very expensive private school(it was worth it) for a STEM degree.
I figured I made about $20 per hour to go to school, above my regular wages in 1990’s dollars.

And my kid who worked through college and paid his debt by living dirt cheap for a year gets the shaft.

Great job by the derelict in Chief.

If he does that then we are just going to have to tax these wealthy liberal elites and the feckless, duplitous, treacherous Republican scum of the country club who both elected him. Make them pay for it I say!

Any stipulations? So the dude who went to college for 3 years of pot-smoking, frat parties, spring break trips and leaves school with a a 2.0 GPA and no degree gets his loan forgiven? Got it.

Of course there will be stipulations. People of color and queer folks only. And anyone that disagrees is a bigot and immediately canceled.

This has the same flaws as Cash For Clunkers.

First, it destroys wealth.
Second, it adds Fed debt.
Third, it cannot be repeated year after year without creating catastrophe. That looks like the plan.

We are so screwed.

***************

Well, yes we are. We are still talking about right and wrong, lawful and unlawful, ethical and non-ethical, responsible versus unresponsible.

The Democrats have moved beyond all that bothersome and trivial stuff. They just do whatever they want to do.

And they’ll get away with it until something goes horribly wrong. For example, if the stock market crashes (20% to 40% is being predicted by some) THEN they will encounter some trouble with their power grab. People have to be hurt first before they question what’s happening to this country unfortunately.

He has no controlling legal authority to cancel the debts but he could rob the treasury to pay them off and who would stop him?

He doesn’t have the right to invalidate the terms of a valid contract.

Would the Feds pay college tuition? You know they would not do that for Whitey.

It’s only the media that keeps this guy afloat. The VAST majority of Americans are through with the senile criminal.
