Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Lau: "The terrible violence on the streets of Israeli cities must stop. Yesterday I called on the leaders of the Arab public to act to calm the area, stop the violence and corruption, prevent the horrific images of Jews being attacked and synagogue damaged. Their mobilization to calm the winds.
"On the other hand, tonight in Bat Yam there was an unusual incident of violence. We call on the public to obey the security forces and not take the law into their own hands. Certainly not by violence against innocent people. This is not the way of the Torah.

A Jew was attacked by an angry Arab mob near Chabad Square after he stumbled upon their demonstration and accidentally hit one of them with his vehicle. Later, they threw stones at the policemen who tried to fend them off and set the vehicle on fire. The driver of the vehicle and the civilian injured by the vehicle were evacuated for medical treatment.
