Dianas driver was drunk. The media was a minute or two behind them. The accident had already happened when the press entered the tunnel.

The royal family is sustained by the media publicity and would otherwise be considered even more useless today than it already is. The queen knows how to deal with the media: “Don’t complain. I don’t condone predatory media but I also get tired of people who were made by the media now complaining about the media attention. The media has always been a powerful enemy and a treacherous friend. Those who don’t realize that need to get out of the kitchen.

The driver was drunk....
Diana died because she got into a car driven by a drunk driver, and failed to wear a seatbelt. Pretty simple. Not killed by Bashir or the BBC
I totally agree, they were not thrilled with her Muslim boyfriend. I remember her death well. Had just moved into my new house, first morning there I opened the door to pick up my newspaper and those were the headlines. Shed a tear for her. I had recently been in London for a week and was totally put off by the horrible high prices at Harrods, owned by Fayad family at the time.
The media was chasing the car she was in....She thought when she left Charles,the media would stop hounding her...They didn’t....

If was still the driver’s fault. Getting away from nasty news media is a poor excuse for dangerous driving.
The Queen told Charles and Diana to divorce after this interview. Without the interview, they would have stayed married but separated longer, she would still have had her royal protection officers, and it is unlikely that she would have gone cavorting with the likes of Dodi Fayed.
Guess Harry is identifying as Black these days — he sees himself a victim.
