"The main thrust of the public criticism was that the darker stamps have a lower value, giving the impression that a light skin color is worth more."

"Spain has the second largest number of unmarked mass graves in the world. They still have people living with neighbors who tortured them during the Franco years and even the current government refuses to help families identify relatives who were tortured, murdered and dumped in mass graves. So naturally they have a massive overreaction in the opposite direction and try to prove how progressive they are."

Frankly, somewhere along the decision line there was likely an Old Spaniard who saw the contradiction, smiled, then decided to let the stupid childish mush-headed Millenials underlings who constructed this garbage out of race theory burn baby burn...

Idiocy is strong in the Spanish Postal Service and government. Juan Carlos saved Spain from the Spanish Generals after Franco’s death. Who will save Spain from its government today?

I traveled there often during Franco’s time and post Franco. I am old. It has become a lovely nation I enjoy greatly. I and my Mexican wife speak Spanish. We really like Spain greatly. I fear it is succumbing to insane political correctness.

This is sad.

You can’t expect Spaniards to know US history....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suspect that the not so hidden agenda (and it isn’t just Spain) is to pick up on what the Dem-Rats are saying/doing about blaming American whiteys for anything that can be construed as a racism issue so that the light doesn’t get shone on THEM. It was the Spanish after who were the first country to make extensive use of slaves when setting up colonial labor forces in the Americas. By 1550, they had killed off plenty of the indigenous people they had enslaved so the sugarcane plantations were replenished with African slaves... In Cuba for example, slavery existed right up to the end of the 19th century.
The postal service calls them "Equality Stamps" and introduced them on the anniversary of George Floyd being killed by a police officer in Minneapolis.
We don’t. Progressives have been cleansing history books for over 100 years now.
Very few Americans, even conservatives, know that the Empire vetoed abolitionist laws put on colonial governors’ desks in the early 1770s.
We beat out almost the entire world on abolition. That tyrant stole it from us.
He was joking about the feminist adage that a woman allegedly earns 70 cents for every dollar a man earns. $20 x 0.70 is $14.
I guess that could explain it.
What he actually should have said is $8.4 - 70% of 3/5 of $20.
